Autopots, coco & perlite - Mr. Nice medicine man

Hi there! I'll post a grow diary from my ongoing project, Mr. Nice medicine man in autopots. I'm at day 43 in flower by now.

I have a room with three tents:
- A homemade room with plastic for mother plants and cuttings with 2x55w cfl bulb, approx 120x120cm
- A standard Homebox tent on 1x1x2m with 400w mh / hps
- A Homebox silver with mylar, 1.2 x, 1.2 x2m with 600w hps

The plants receive one week's growth in the smallest tent and three weeks of flowering, before they are moved to the large tent where they flower for 5 weeks. After cut, I'll hung them to dry in the smallest tent for about a week.
With this setup I get a harvest every 5 weeks.

Forgot to pardon my English (Scandinavian), and to mention that this is a copy of my grow log from the scandinavian cannabis site, so don't get confused about the time line.:tumbleweed:

I grow Mr. Nice's Medicine Man, was lucky and found a killer indica dominated mother among the seeds. The plant is reasonably bushy by nature, with many side branches. No distinctive large cola, so it's is good for scrog or lst. Buds does not look so impressive in size, but they are extremely compact.

Has grown in coco coir around 3 years now and am very pleased. Has so far hand watered or used drip irrigation, which means spillage inside the tents. I have therefore purchased the autopot Easy2grow system with 3x2 pots and a reservoir of 47 liters. Possible overkill with 6 plants, time will show.

Medium - 70/30 mix of coir and perlite.

Yesterday theautopot system were set up for the first time. At the top the autopot holders with root mat. There is also a rootmat in each pot. Plan to do careful cleaning, so it does not flood.
After water was added to the reservoir went quite quickly to fill the trays with water to about 3cm height

Your setup sounds great lululu, best of luck and keep it green. If I may ask what is your yield in the 1.2m2 tent running the 600 and six plants. I run a 600 in 1m2 with sixteen clones with two weeks vegetative growth and could maybe fit a couple more in there. The strains I run work well in sog though...

It all depends on the strain of course. Had a nirvana bublicious that produced almost 1g/w, but the smoke were terrible. With my MM mother and clones, max so far is about 400g

The ladies after one week in veg: The girls explode with autopots.
The medium is moist also on top, even if it is bottom fed.

I have tied the branches down to get an even canopy. Looks a bit messy. They have emtied their first reservoir, 45 liters in 9 days.

Going to remove the lowest small branches.

After one week in flower the tent is a jungle. The girls look healthy and pistils are showing.

Have to admit that the autopots are impressive so far, no roots have emerged from the autopots, which could be clogging the aquavalve and flood the tent.

Sorry for the image quality.

The girls are still stretching and branching and it's starting to get too crowded inside the tent. But they have to hold on for another 10 days before they are moved to the large tent.

Day 19 in flower - moving to larger tents

Day 19 in flower - moving to larger tents

The Girls who have completed flowering are now in the small tent in total darkness for 2 days before harvest.

The Girls in autopots has been moved to the big tent. It was too crowded in the small tent. This has caused two of the girls being dominant in size, so some bending is needed.

The stems are also thinner and weaker when crowded, must tie up some of the plants and branches. In week 6, all branches become so heavy that they hang straight down

A second set of autopots with girls will be placed in the small tent, so there will be a set in both tents. New plants will be set in the small tent when drying is complete, so i get a new crop in March.

Here's one monster to the right:

The large tent is almost half a time as big as the small tent, but I hope it will fill up as well.

The autopots are still performing very good. There's some salt build up at the pots bottom, but not much.

45 liter disappears in 5-6 days, guess they are liking it :dance013:
Some short roots have grown throug the pot, but they are so small, that I'm not afraid of clogging the valve yet.

Couple of images from the small tent after 2 days drying.

I'll continue tomorrow or tonight.
If you have any questions about medicine man or autopots, shoot.
