Hello everyone!

Been lurking since the early days, finally decided to take the plunge and hopefully begin to enjoy the site as a regular member. Started this wonderful hobby in 2001 for personal use and to share with a couple of friends. I feel like I already know many people here and have learned much while avoiding many mistakes by reading and following good advise. Will take some time getting up to speed learning how the site works for members, but I'm sure it will be a HOOT!!!

Thanks to everyone who makes this site possible. Great Job!!!

Hey Tony, thanks for the welcome. I am a basement grower, living along the front range in the land of legal weed (CO). I began smoking herb in 1971, so I've been around the block a time or two. I share many people's story of paying too much for junk weed and waiting for a phone call that saying "i'll be there in a half hour". I had just about given up smoking completely until 2001 when I discovered several sites: GC...CW...OG. It was like magic, everything you needed know to keep yourself in better weed than I knew even existed.

My first grow was Skunk #1 from DP. I know people knock DP, but they sure had some good skunk back then in 2001, maybe still do. This stuff reeked to high heaven and I hadn't vented my room enough, so I ended up finishing only 1 plant and you could smell it standing in the driveway. Learned a lesson from that one and improved the venting and never had a real issue like that since. I still remember that first hit of skunk from that grow. I was higher than I had ever been in my life and I knew I would be growing often. Always been a light smoker, doesn't take but a couple a hits to do the trick so a couple of plants keeps me and friends supplied for a long time. My 2nd grow was "Flo", also from DP in 2002. I made some seeds from that pack and made crosses with several different strains that worked out well. When you start with such good genes like Flo, it doesn't matter if you are a novice, you still get good results. Right now I have a Satori at about 30 days along with a cross using (OHaze X SK1) x Flo, nothing special just something to work with during the long winters on the front range.

Hi Avinash, moved here to CO about 14 years ago and have been loving it ever since. I grew up in the south east-hot and humid. Can't imagine trying to grow back there indoors with all the pests and mold problems. Never had any grow issues here except a few fungus nats and the occaisonal thrip (spinosid = thrip killer). Never had any mold problems at all with good air circulation and low humidity. Only challenge is raising humidity and thats easy to remedy.

thanks for the welcome and look forward to talking again.

Tony, what I have is an F1 Satori girl that hit a few lower branches with pollen from an F1 male Satori using seeds from the same pack I bought about 3 yrs. ago. Both plants have large indica fan leaves with an almost identical smell, hard to describe but kinda like mothballs. I've read in the Mandala forum that this is a good pheno, both have sturdy stems and seemed like a good selection to use.

My other plant is the cross of a male OH x sk1 freebie crossed to a flo from an earlier grow.

I will post pics when I'm up to speed with the process. Still just getting the hang of posting text.

Could someone tell me why I still have no posts showing under my name as I have 8 on this tread, if you count the 2 duplicates I somehow made. Am I being punished for the making Dupes?

It may turn out I don't have enough sense to be a member :comfort:

Posts made here in the 'introduce yourself' forum don't get credited as post counts...silly rules indeed.

But welcome! Happy growing!

Thanks Payaso,

I suspected as much. After I asked about this I posted a greeting in the Colorado Growers Tread and it instantly showed a count.
