You know.....The biggest contributing factor to a perfect dialed sideways canopy IME is knowin your strain/variety/hybrid , how to trim/prune/shape the picks of the litter pre-veggers BEFORE goin in the bloom rooms , and then.....

Knowin how much they`re gonna stretch and fill out sideways so there can be optimum lumen penetration all the way through said sideways canopy for every bit of plant material to absorb the light and convert it into all nuggage by end of cycle without em getting too close to the bare bulbs and creating light/heat stress and or producing flarfy bullshit from lack of penetration depth.......and that....

Takes runs under yer belt with each individual strain/variety/hybrid monocropped and dialed to the tits.......so......With all my "strainwhore/variety is the spice of life" Growbro`s , it `s a constant battle to overcome all the limiting factors of different plants in the same room with bare bulbs hangin...and why ?......

Cuz everyone that switched over to vertical setups started out with horizontal air-cooled or not reflectors , and with a flat grow it`s waaay easier to run different varieties in the same room and control the canopy to a certain degree with putting something underneath the shorter plants to sit on once stretch is over and swellage begins ......

Sure.....Monocroppin a flat grow`s even better for less maintenance , but hardly anyone monocrops for the reasons stated above.....and hey...I ain`t bitchin anyone out about it , but it`s the single biggest limiting factor in pullin down the gpw`s IME.......and......yas can`t adjust shit with a vert setup now can yas......

With plants surrounding stacked bare bulbs plants grow differently than under reflectors , and each individual strain will be affected differently by the response to stimuli of the pull/being drawn to the strong sideways light source , cuz .......

Some will shoot for the moon right dead at the lights while others will bush sideways while stretchin ..... and that`s where runs under yer belt and knowing how the plants will respond as well as where they`ll end up by end of stretch is so important for that perfect sideways canopy.........

It ain`t rocket science........just discipline and common sense......Now....I`d love , love , LOVE ta visit FHC-ville and eat , drink , and be merry witchas Bro , but there`s absolutely no secrets or fairy dust I can tell or sprinkle for a magic transformation of your already awesome and soon to be even moreso once dialed setup and you know this......

Takes discipline , common sense , monocropped rooms , and above all as you said earlier.....runs under yer belt with each individual strain so it gets simple and babyshit once all their needs are known and met from doin it again and again.....aight.......

Nuff preachin outta my old ass this day........I smell breakfast and GF`s givin me that look , so......Proud ta see yas uppin yer game Bro......I know it`s bout ta get real ALL up in here so I`ll be over here on my bucket waitin and watchin........Good luck and.......

Peace......Freds.......:ying:......

The ability to control spray time with HP aero to dictate what type of plant structure you want is unbelievable. What i learned is: Shorter spray times (3 seconds) with longer intervals (3-4 minutes) with high pressure low volume misters will produce short tight internode spaced plants (perfect for SOG) .

And longer spray times (30 sec or more) with shorter intervals produce taller plants with larger internode spacing.

Imagine a HP vert system like im designing, with the ability to control spray times for what you want. This is what im going for.

This is very interesting FHC. "you must spread some rep blah blah blah"

Yeah....Finished breakfast and realized I forgot ta ask about that strange phenomenon D bro......and where it`s been documented as being so cuz that`s some serious info like distances from light or closer to light kinda shit controlling internode spacing......anyways........

Only in the twisted kid`s forum....Lotta good shit all up in here these days.....

Peace.....Freds......:ying:......

Ok, first of all at this point in time there is no proof in that statement. This is all information that i have found while researching and through private messages from aero heads in this and other forums.

The theory behind shorter mist cycles with the proper nozzle to create short tight internode spaced plants (perfect for sog) is that with that short burst (3 sec) or less. You are creating a root structure of only fine hair roots (pom pom) by not over saturating. I heard that this will even make tall stretchy plants dwarf.
This is only possible with the right nozzle and the proper droplet size for the roots to absorb. Longer spray times in the 30 - 60 second timeframe saturate the roots and promote the taller plants most people go for like 18-24 inches.

Discipline is the word. It's tough trying to squeeze every gram possible in a sideways canopy. Especially changing strains all the time. I get discouraged all the time when i see holes in the canopy. Holes mean less and i hate holes. I am at the point where i can tell ya almost percisely how much im going to yield just by looking at the dam holes...lol

Sounds like a form of environmental stress as in starving the plants to keep em smaller but still keep em alive on life support.......but......

If it works for individual needs and setups , then it`s beneficial and to be documented as such.....anyways.....GF`s hollerin to come play in the snow and I`m like..........WTF ?.......

Snow in Hell ?........The world`s surely comin to an end.......Glad I`ve got me some Bubba ta calm my nerves before total meltdown.....

.Gonna start a fire in the fireplace , and put some dead carcass on da grill for later on.......Ya`ll pray fer my deliverance through this freak winter storm......

Don`t want none of my critters to kick and haveta deal with the cleanup........I hate dead shit.......

I have noticed that the hp, with short bursts, makes the plants stay nice and small and compact as well. Seems like most of the people settled on a fraction of a second spray time, 2-5 min off time.

Kind of hard to find that information, most of the hp guy's don't show ya the plants! I've read through so many hp threads that are just post after post of paragraphs.

I think one of the first people to fully document this phenomenon was, glove's posts years ago when he was using the atomix system.

For your first hp system, will you go for an air assisted system?

Most people start with the 60-100 psi pumps and then end up going air assisted anyways haha.

I've spent so much time reading the hp threads from pod racer, treefarmer, fatman, trichy bastard, glove, petflora, etc... Lots of good information in those threads.

Now just imagine if they were growing vert!

Dude were on the same exact page my friend! I get headaches from reading through all that. Lots of good information to absorb for sure.

Im not gonna screw around with all that technical crap and such. Fatman recommended me a pump and misters that will kick some ass and i wont need the acumulator tank. Im just gonna start in my flat sog and see what happends. If i can learn something and the results are better then what i do now with LP then i will move forward with the vertical design and make it HP. If the results are neglidgeable then i will still build that vert system but just have the ease of LP.

Just added 5 stars to this thread. I must say I am really enjoying this. Cutting edge stuff FHC. Who knew reading all this could be so damn entertaining. Really excited to see your results, dying to see them infact. God aero is soo cool.. I am going to read those threads suggested. Aero scares uneducated me but it might suit me in the end with my cooler climate and perhaps the biggest advantage is that I'm always around here.. I never am more than a few hours away from my farm so I dont mind checking stuff. You may have set another person on that wicked aero road FHC, time will tell if it works for me. Thanks for stimulating me.. wish I could give back.

Fillin in the gaps for the perfect sideways canopy is the name of the game.......

Without monocroppin and dialage , there`ll always be that X factor my buddy..........but.......

Things to work towards and setting goals is a good thingy so........Handle it and .....

Thanks my friend! Aero really isn't that demanding, once everything is up and runnin. you can set it a forget it (at least for a few days) Iv'e gone on vacations for 6 days and came back to a room that didnt skip a beat, so it's doable.

Welcome aboard!

SOG update. Doesn't it always seem like right when you need something to work it doesn't!

I've never ever had a problem cloning...until i built a SOG grow and needed 120 clones.

Never dip fresh unrooted clones in Orchard spray! at least rinse them the next day if you do.

That and the colder temps in the sog room where these clones were put to root set me back about a month! In the future i won't be cloning in this room, but in my tent.

A week ago I pulled all the clones that didnt root or were slow and put them back in the tent and started flowering the ones that did. These LVPK are 1 week into flower and i just pinched off the lower growth. The roots are starting to really explode..i forgot to get a pic of the roots!

The rest inside the tent are starting to come around. Im gonna give them another week then put them to flower.

USD harvest is underway....a little at a time

002-18_zps448ed8f3.jpg

Started hackin some of the top buds and some closest to the bulbs. At this rate i will have some at 10 weeks and some at 11. And i wont be overwhelmed with a huge pile of buds to trim all at once.
