Back to the Old-Skool

Listen up growers n tokers. Just want to let yous know about some great experiences ive had lately, growing forgotten, old skool classic crosses. Everyone seems obsessed with the latest funky name plant, or clone crosses, but let me tell you, i've grown cuts from all over the world, and apart from maybe FFA and C99 pineapple pheno, i've not found better than these crosses.

I know alot of people have a downer on sensi these days, but one cross you can certainly rely on is Skunk Kush. It's cheap, and all phenos were great. I also did POG with it, and while i already had a cracking pot of gold pheno, it was so good, i decided to try the crosses again, from sensi aswell. The pot of gold is more consistant in growth terms, and yields massive. But the skunk kush, gives a better selection to choose from. I choose a lovely stout kushy pheno that stinks of BO/Petrol/Oil with a zesty sweetness when broken up. It's notas big a yielder as my pot of gold pheno, which is much more heavily skunk leaning, but its by far my favourite. The tastes come through really well, and it absolutely reeks.

We also tried superskunkxnorthernlights from pyramid seeds, which were good also. The northernlight phenos giving more taste.

But i really want people to start some grow shows of skunk kush and pot of gold. You're guarenteed to get a keeper out of 10 seeds, and some are absoloutely fantastic. Forget all these new fangled, untested crosses, growers n breeders, get your hands on some of these. It's the best smelling weed i've had since the mid-ninties. Proper old skool. Peace out, Solid.:ying:

I've had my few bad experience with them i admit, namesly 10 jack flash thats didnt germ, and 5 NL5XHAZE that didnt germ. But since they own flying dutchman and had such a wicked keeper, we thjought why not compare them to sensis n see if they are the same. Gotta admit, i preferred the skunk kush, though our pot of gold cut is magic too. Bet you pound to a penny you'd find a true keeper out of 10 of each.

I heard really good things about Skunk Kush from a local grower way back in the day. Its that ticket and the germ thing that scare me, dropping $600 on a few packs and then getting 0 plants from it is SCARY stuff.

:woohoo:Finally someone brave enough to say it sraight !Have been through lots of new skool strains lately. They have a lot of merits to them as well. Taste and flavours are nice sometimes too! Ihad a cut of NL#5 in the 90s and a Skunk No 1 that i would gladly set beside newer strains anyday!:thank you:Or maybe re phrase newer strains to.re worked old skoolers !

And that is enough reasons not to buy sensi seeds, highest price tags in the game, shit germination and no replacements
HOT DAWG! where to I sign up.

Skunk Kush is cheap in sensi terms. 47.50 euros for five fems and 82 euros for 10 regs. A sound investment as far as i am concerned. Along with the pot of gold, you're gonna find a real rtoadkill nasty skanky funk draw that everyone will want their hands on. Another cracking little skunky hybrid from white label which is a really good smoke and easy to grow is only 29 euros for five fems. And 16 euros for 10 regs.

Another overlooked strain is powerplant. Had some amazing phenos from that, but only from white label, didnt rate it from elsewhere. Got alot of respect for the white label guys, loved every cross i tried off them. Powerplant was the best and i hd a great keeper till i got busted.

I've been looking at some of these lately since I like a good body stone. Do they yield good?

The yield of the pot of gold pheno we have is immense. Huge yielde but leans rto the skunky side. The skunk kush yields well also, but my kushy pheno doesnt hit the heights of the pot of gold. It still gives a decent sized yield of pure bud though. It is a good yielder really, but next to the pot of gold pheno seems smaller. I much prefer the kush pheno though. Real old skool smells and flavours.

Pardon if I'm mistaken, but this whole thread has the stink of advertising language for the benefit of Sensi.

I like sensi, they have some older lines that are very good, white skunk is another white label that wins praises as most of their other white widow hybrids.. I have a few widows going now and they will be flowering soon and I'm happy so far, good germ rates and strong vigorous plants that show good hybrid vigor and good uniformity, There is one that looks a little more indica and the rest are identical in veg.. I'll see how they go through flower. I have grown out quite a few white label/sensi stock over the years ( 1999 first WW) and when they go into flower I can see if it is the same stock. I grew some out in 2005/6 and it was the identical stuff to the '99 plants, like a photo outa the catalog. People run down sensi but with sensible buys over the years I haven't been disappointed by them. Superskunk is also an old skool skunky citrussy variety that has not changed much over the years for me and I grew some last year along old skool skunk cuts and the plants were so identical during veg and flower, 'cept for the scent, the parentage was obvious.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the skunk kush and sensi. Nice to have first hand information..I'd love to have some old skool NL back..I'm sure some old hippy tucked away in a backwoods is still keeping a mom alive after decade or more..

Seeing as you are talking about Golden Skush via GN collection or the alternate Pot of Gold - and you did mention C99...lol.

Might I suggest you look into Nuggetshiner on seedbay...

I grew out his "Golden Cindy" ie Skush x C99 - lot of people really liked that herb.It was one of the higher yielding plants I've grown that still had a high degree of quality to it...

More of a Skunk/C99 pheno - much like an old Sweet Skunk:

A more Hindu Kush / C99 pheno - I remember being intrigued by the 3 leaf deal on this plant...

-Any way - there is the love of your old skool - mixed with a new school flare that you never experienced...go figure.

But I agree. I'm still nose to the ground for a particular pheno of NL#5 x Haze again...certainly some good herbs to be found in all kinds of places...

You have the stink of a sceptical person. I've mentioned more companies than sensi here and if i have a great experience with something that doesn't get alot of coverage, I'm going to talk about it. And the Skunk Kush was very very good.

I'd love to see the quality of the strains board if skeptics didn't exist and we just accepted everything said here at face value..."This is Hendrix Haze , my dad got the seeds from Jimi himself in '69,they've been sitting in a stash box and I just popped them". This place breeds serious skepticism, rightly so.

So my apologies if you were offended that I accused you of being an advertising shill, but calling me a skeptic like it's a bad thing because your pride is hurt only undermines the real importance of skepticism in our world.

Most folk out there will tell you consistently the same about Sensi: They cheap strains are still solid, Skunk #1, Super Skunk, Hindu Kush to name a few.
In the other hand, some people are questioning the parental stock that remains, problems in germination with the priciest strains, add their adamant position in replacement faulty seed stock, and well... this issues are echoed in most forums.
Glad to see an actual plant picture to judge for ourselves.

I'm not offended you hurt my pride, i can judge for myself what is top shelf stuff and what isn't. I was annoyed you thought my soul purpose of starting a thread about what good phenos i had from Skush and POG was nothing but bollocks to sell seeds for sensi.

If we were all skeptics all the time, what would we grow? Everyone looks for reviews of crosses they want to try, so obviously everyone is not that skeptical. And an honest opinion is worth its weight in gold. I even reminised about my bad sensi experiences in the post, so why you'd think i was bigging them up i dont know. Nevermind. Dont try them, i dont care, i got my keepers.:tiphat:
