how much humidity after clones start to root?

Hey guys

Just starting using rapid rooter plugs. I am having some success...however it has been 8 days..and about 75% have started to show roots.

MY question is....how long do I leave the humidity dome on the tray for? I have opened a vent ...and propped up the side with some paper towel to let air in...but I do not want to impede the rooting process by taking the humudity away....but at the same time...I do not want to lose any more to stem rot..as I have lost a few to stem rot.

What do I do?

Thanks

By the third day after taking clones I have both vents open on the lid. The lid stays on until the day I transplant them...

aagreed leave the top on untill all have rroted (that look like they will) and reduce the humidity slightly once the majority begin to show legs by opening a vent. perhaps medium is too moist and that is driving the rot?

The real key is keeping the stem in a dark, aerated, and well saturated environment. If you use a aero cloner you need no dome at all. The dome is just to keep the rapid rooter/rockwool damp and prevent drying out. I have done away with the dome entirely when cloning in rw unless I am not be able to visit everyday. You just have to be sure the blocks stay wet but not oversaturated. Once you see roots transplant immediatly to whatever you are growing in. I have seen growers overusing the domes and ending up with soggy clones and the dread squishy stems. If you do use domes leave at least one vent open from the begining.

just crack the sides like you already did, they will be fine like that until you put in whatever medium you decide on :) later!

Pizza I leave dome on til fully rooted. Open vents or dome partially on once 8-14 day range to begin acclimitization of successful roots.

Main point being to take baby steps, try not to shock em.
