I think the squares are fine as youve just shown with your setup bro..

Lol... If I pull 2lbs outa one of my 6's bro.... I swear..

I think part of what Im doing is taking your "room is the reflector" concept and just did it similar to heath, with alot more watts per square foot and the right cooling.. I can get WAY more foliage and flowers into that space, that is a matter of prep, but Im seriously thinking like Im on to something here.... Wont know till I get the dry weight from the Chemd...

I'm in the process of building a 4x8 bed, I was given a couple 8xxls and this is the only thing that has piqued my interest as far as horizontal is concerned. I should have enough posts for pm soon enough so I will be inquiring about the sprinklers. Your racks are sick as well. Everything is looking great.

I have 6, c-99 tables and 2, old time bubba kush going. This will be
the first time flowering out the bubba though. I know this Cindy pheno
like the back of my hand, she has never impressed me more, this early.
I will take some pics after my week 5 strip down and at finish. I am loving
the tables. I will be following the 4x8's closely, if you hit 5, I will definitely be
going that route on my next room. Keep on killing it!

Yea dude there is something about the simplicity of the beds that just makes the ladies sing...

If you arn't running caps bennies... DO IT! lol...

I think this will save you a few days during the transplant from cuts to the bed. Definitely cuts down shock... crazy to watch...

Keep us updated on your beds bro. You are welcome to post whatever you want in this thread.

Thanks for dropping in man. You will LOVE the beds without a doubt. It's funny man because before I did the beds I was a pure vert snob. I laughed at all the horizontal growers thinking that they were a few steps behind... Little did I know...

So here is a fun little table I am running. Its a straight experiment so I have no idea what to expect. I will be happy with anything as I have never really done anything like this before...

Table is 3x3 with 600 watts. Orca top and side reflectors.

Now... this time I squeezed 36 Dirt Larry (space queen x urkle x lemon larry) in #1 smart pots in here. Have been defoliating (rapen em...) them since week 1 of flower. Was just curious to see how constant defoliating from the beginning would effect them. I didn't defoliate until the end of week 1 though...

All pics are day 21 of flower...

This table is an experiment, but I hope to get at least a pound out of her... Looking OK so far...

so what are your thoughts on the constant defoliation so far? i always wait til week 3 and anything more than a foot or so below the canopy is half as developed as more top stuff.

also gonna be settin up some coco beds in about a month inspired by your and Jacks work. just waitin for a room to come down. im thinkin 72 on one table and 98 on the other.

what was the cost to build each 4x8 orca reflector?

Whatthe215, you can control the stretch without sketchin em by only taking the top fan leaves on the grow tips you are willing to let ride, the lower sites take off from what Im seeing.. Wait for my homie bst to chime in, but Im loving how my plants grow with selective leaf removal, or "growth trans-location" as Ive come to intuit it.... I personally think this is meant more for veg, dialing in the shape before the flip, results speak volumes, at least so far for me..

Fuckin baked that prob made no sense... off to bed I go..

Yea who knows what to expect man... Also hopin for 1/2oz + per sir. :)

As far as the constant defoliation, the verdict is still out. Its really just too early to tell. I have also never stuffed this many plants into this small a space to its hard for me to tell how developed they would be otherwise. Will keep everybody updated though.

As far as the tables. 72 seems fine for most plants. I think you could do 98 with almost no veg if you have a good single cola plant. If you do I bet you would fucking kill it lol.

The cost for the orca reflector is actually WAY cheaper than buying even a cheap production bat wing let alone a top of the line reflector/hood.

Orca: .42 cents/ft at about 40sq ft so about 18 bucks
Insulation board: 20 bucks
Wood/screws/scrapws: 5 bucks
Box fan: 20 bucks
Chain: 10 bucks
S hooks: 2 bucks
Sockets: 20 bucks a piece so 40 bucks

So I mean we are talking 120 bucks tops and that was me rounding up on all my estimates. If you have a normal workshop/tool bench in your house we are talking about cutting off 20 bucks right there. If you already have the sockets thats another 40 bucks... you get the idea... cheap...

LOL bakes responses always make sense until you post em... but... in this case listen to my boy Jbonez bc he knows his shit. His post was right on plus he would know better than I would anyway bc he has been defoliating from the beginning longer than I have.

Verdict is still out and I didn't even start taking fans in veg like J so its hard to compare.

Strippin fans affects different plants in different ways........Have seen it many times in the last several yrs it`s been goin on , and that`s why it`s always gonna be subjective at best....so.....that said......

The only way ta document the results is to do it , wait , and see.....anyways......

Many ways ta skin a mule.....Ya`ll get ta work and make an old man proud.......

Yo bros been a minute since I updated so here we go...

Ladies have about 10-14 days left and are looking awesome. Never had vert nugs this big before so I am hoping for a good pull down...

Should know in a few weeks!

picture.php

Outside shot looking in. Wish i could open her up more, but shes a tight squeeze. No complaints though...

picture.php

Lights off for a different look.

picture.php

Slightly different, but same picture.

picture.php

Lookin up... nugs look pretty large.

If you notice in the first couple of pics I am not using any trellis netting. I was going to, but I think the sag actually makes for better light coverage because most branches end up being horizontal.

Canopy isn't quite as dense as I would like. Next round will have a better veg, which hopefully will solve that problem.

Anyway things are looking ok for the first run. Definitely room for improvement though.

Oh yea and I tried everybody's suggestion to defoliate slowly and I like it a lot. Pretty much minimal if any stall and things rocked along nicely. Will definitely be defoliating in stages in all my grows from now on so thanks to everybody for chiming in.

Glad everyone`s suggestion helped yas grab a better sideways canopy Bro.....and....I still see buncha leaves that can go , but I definitely ain`t bitchin bout seein nugs from ceiling to damn near the bottom of the room........and.....

I feel yas on the no horti-trellis with smaller plants , but mine were angled at the lights and I hadta have something for the end colas to rest on and prevent snappage till end of cycle..........

Stoked yas`re getting bigger nugs with this setup my buddy........makes an old man proud....and......It only gets better , but your flat grow skills are impressive as well with the tunnels..........

Keep dialin Bro and hope Harvey`s good to yas......

Respect......and.....

Peace....Freds........:ying:.....

You want the plants sagging sideways for best light penetration, yes... But you're gonna have problems with stems snapping with heavier buds like with the straw dd for example... I had branches from my USD snap under the weight of the buds in my current grow. You're probably good with the plant you're growing now... Just suggesting you get that trellis for future runs with heavier plants.

Nice work... Looks like 5-6lbs to me!

Yea man I definitely hear ya on seein fans that can go... and... usually I take EVERY SINGLE FAN... but this was the first time I tried to gradually take fans so I decided to go with that whole thing and left any fans that wern't really blocking light.

I think I will need trellis netting on future runs, but the veg run was weak on this run so they plants arn't as big/full as they should be. Also this plant isn't a huge yielder so...

Anyway the exciting thing is that there is a lot of room for improvement which I am excited about.

Yessiiir that is a problem I look forward to having lol. Wish I needed trellis netting!

Hope your estimate is right sir... no idea though as I havn't ran vert in a good while and also havn't ran this setup every before.
