The cfm rating stands for cubic feet per minute, this tells you how many cubic feet of air can be removed in a minute. A higher cfm rating is better for larger chambers or vacuum ovens and in no way will be a problem for smaller chambers, you will just get to full vacuum very fast. The micron rating on a vacuum pump tells you how deep of a vacuum the pump pulls, the lower the micron rating the deeper the vacuum.

and i might sound like an idiot but i am curious to know if the oil will still purge if floating on warm water?

Yes, you can purge on glass under vacuum and heat just fine. Make sure your oil is in a thin film rather than thick to allow for the most surface area to release solvent. What do you mean floating on water, are you talking about blasting directly into water or into dish thats floating on water?

Please stop purging like this, this is hands down the worst way to purge your bho. Bho isn't soluble in water so this doesn't help to purge the residual butane if anything it traps it in with lots of moisture. Purge in a thin film, under deep vacuum(-29.9hg) and constant heat of around 110-130F depending on the viscosity of the oil. This is the best way to purge your bho.
Does your oil turn black in storage? You also said you have been dabbing oil purged like this for years, may I ask what your breathing is like after dabbing this oil and does it irratate your lungs making you feel short of breath?
Vaped bud is usually fully decarboxylated and will yield a gooey less stable extract, that is dark and sticky. This extract will taste and smell just like vaped bud and would be good for oral consumption, but not enjoyable for vaporization.

i just did my first test run with everything.
after a few pulls at a constant 150 temp i decided to step out for a smoke, so i left it attached to the VP at (30?) (no gauge) tyhe pump was not on.i figured everything was fine and started playing with my dog
when i came back the jar was filled will the vaccume pump oil.
i washed it under fast moving water for like 10 mins.
is it 100% doomed or is there some way i can clean this?
the oil is pure mineral oil could i maybe still eat it?
