Last night I spent almost two hours training the girls and removing some old leaves which have started to pale or to dry out and now every grow top is under the screen.

I have very good news also : one of the preflowers noticed on Mazar have 2 pistils so those balls are calyxes , not pollen sacks. :yay:

Hello my friends !

Happy New Year and all my best wishes for all ICMAG users !

I'v been away for last 5-6 days (who count them) and I have to post some updates about my current grow.

It seems that less attention is more than beneficial to my garden, as I was extremely surprised to notice that the pH on the reservoirs was 5.7 after almost one week without my intervention. And now comes the question : our beloved plants do really need us to grow ? hmmmmm .....

This will be a two part post, due to the ICMAG rules that don't allow more than 5 pics per post, so here are the pictures with the girls before the training session from today morning :

10 weeks - after training

10 weeks - after training

This training session was a extremely long one.

I spent almost 40 minutes training Mazar, pruning the old leaves that don't receive light anymore and hope she will be ready to flip in one or two weeks. It's impossible to count the tops for now, bot I intend to do this after the first two weeks of 12/12

The AK47 looks more healthy now but is for sure the most wired cannabis plant I ever grow. Her stems seems woody first but after tow or three bends they became suddenly soft. This start to happen after I start to give them Liquid Silicon (silica) on each feeding. Her leaves seems to be made of extra thin green metal sheet , very crispy, dark green and extremely healty.

Here are some pictures with the girls after training:

Wow!:tumbleweed: In 1 week of unsupervised time, that Ak 47 sure reached up for the sky, and her branches above the net will remain for sure! I imagine that the leveling above and under the net would have been much more uniform if you had been home, keeping an eye close to her escapade! Good luck with your grow :woohoo:

AK47 seems very impredictible and for sure is not the best representative of this strain as she grow not to much on vertical but she tend to develop the leaves first and less the grow tops. I think this phenotype is perfect for micro grows or for compact SOG , because her tendency of branching seems minimal.

To train the girls I need tops longer than 6-7cm (3"), otherwise the plant bounce back in just few hours from training. I could also use wires, but I keep the bondage for flowering , when her tops will be to far from the screen.

I hope the stretch will be minimal and for this I will keep only veg lights for the first two weeks together with 13 hours of light instead of 12. After the stretch ends, the light program will be reduced with 5 minutes each day.

can't wait to see them blooming man! they look very healthy and they seem to do good on their own, maybe you should just visit them from time to time, and leave them do their girly things in peace. :D

LOL, nicely put. :tiphat:

Beautiful SCROG, hempfield -- looks like it took a lot of work to get those girls so bushy and well-trained.

Nice to see that the silica is doing it's job, giving structure to stems and leaves. I've never used it before but definitely want to try it on my next grow.

Very good job so far, the girls are happy and healthy !
Where did you get that liquid silica and how much did it cost ? I was trying to find some AgSil online somewhere with no success, it's silica in powder form so it could be cheaper than the bottled version.
Anyway, keep up the good work !
Peace, HJ.

Just a quick update:

3-4 days ago I noticed that the Mazar is not happy as she used to be. Nothing wrong with her, but the grow speed decreased a little bit and the leaves look twisted.

In the other hand, AK47 seems healthy and stronger than ever, without major pH variations.

I remembered that the last water change was 2-3 weeks ago so I decided to do a full change of the nutrient solution for both plants.

Now the Mazar is happy again with visible signs of grow and she already filled ~60-65% of the screen.

AK47 coverage is ~50-60% but I hope she will spread more on the next week as I am getting anxious to flip

Tonight I will post some picture also.

Peace !
