Heyas! :D

Looking to keep some early flowering mums under 22/2 lighting. I live in the mountains and sometimes there's a power outage that lasts for a while.

Need a battery powered light that charges itself until the power goes out. Needs to come on and stay on for 6-8hrs at least.

Anyone using something like this and have a link off hand?

Thanks a bunch!

Few deep cycle car bats. Hooked up to a trickle charger/ battery maintainer. With a power inverter with a few floressents?
Or man up and buy a generator.

Have you thought about a pc battery backup? You could use that to power any light you want. Shit I have about 30 servers in my server room running on UPS's (Uninterrupted power supply). Battery kicks in without even a hiccup in the equipment. They run from about $100 up to 10's of thousands. Then you could hook up any light you want to it.

I don't think i'm allowed to post the link, so google "make your own aquarium battery backup" and click the link to the post by chipmunkofdoom2.

Very good instructions, made a backup for a clone machine along these lines and the users have reported 0 problems with it running air/water pumps for 2 30 site ez cloners, the heater, and the 4 foot t5 fixture above them, test run it held for 8 hours before we plugged it back in since we were leaving.

Criminy! 25 years working with computers and I never even thought about those! lol...

I was thinking of something that would kick on when the power went out... never even thought about the fact that it could be just a plain batter backup. :tiphat:

Thanks so much for that and the other suggestions folks. Appreciate it greatly. :D

ive been looking into this problem lately, and have been considering UPS (with light connected to it) or panick light for hotels or similar objects...but theres one thing that confuses me...

if i run a cycle, doesnt matter is it 18/6 or 12/12 or other, and if i connect UPS or panic light to a timer, as soon as the timer shuts off, UPS will switch to battery, and so will panic light, and therefore interrupt(prolong light period in this case) cycle which it should protect in the first place...

how to deal with this?
