Normally I post our own dishes, but last night's dinner was simply superb. Seamaiden and I spent a lovely evening at one of the highest ZAGAT rated restaurants in America, Taste in Plymouth, CA for...

First Course, left to right: Toasted hazelnuts, smoked Passmore Ranch sturgeon with Sterling caviar and creme fraiche, avocado mousse, fingerling potato chips.
View Image

Second Course, Dungeness crab trio, left to right: Dungeness crab bisque (gluten-free, dairy-free), Dungeness crab salad served on an herbed chilled hollandaise, and Dungeness crab slider on brioche.
View Image

Third Course, Terrine of duck made with duck mousse, caramelized apples, leeks, pistachios, and a layer of pork fat, topped with micro-arugula greens, sitting in a simple broth.
View Image

Fourth Course, Surf & turf, left to right: 36hr short rib, lobster, herb risotto and blood orange hollandaise.

And lastly, the "Fifth Course...Dessert, left to right: Meyer lemon sorbet, chocolate gelatto, sesame 'tuile' but it was more like candy, on top of chocolate & hazelnut ganache with sections of blood orange and Meyer lemon. Far right is a 'chocolate' bar, chocolate & Meyer lemon ganache with lemon pop rocks.

We forgot to log the cheese plate and palate cleanser! And I should have written down the wine pairings, just phenomenal and I got to try wines I probably never would have otherwise. E.G. that Reisling, just delicious. And that Italian wine they served with dessert, gotta find out what that was.
were you guys at the Downtown Sac Shootout last night?
Oh. My. God. I just read the story because Dave said, "Al just said there was a shootout in Old Sac!" So off to KCRA dot com I go and good Lord. Here I was so disappointed with myself for not being made of firmer stuff and getting so sleepy with the wine served with dinner. Now... wow. There was a reason.

:woohoo:Wonderfull and impressing pictures as usual, I love this thread. Our new years eve was a harvesting weekend, except in the evening.

A solid "Blockhouse Steak", potatos, sprouts and a selfmade pepersauce.

I wish I had taken a pic of lunch darn it. I had pan seared thick cut bologna with a fine domestic American cheese on a white bread samwich with yellow mustard and salad dressing. Sorry y'll, I was showing my wife the dinners and got a little silly now I've got to take her out for dinner. Lucky me, really lucky LOL. All looks GOOD. Don't come here often I get hungry.

Everybody's food looks delicious...Tonight was German food for us. I made mini chocolate "lava" cupcakes...too bad I don't have any canna-butter. Smashed potatoes with Polish mustard. Sauerkraut isn't Frank's, thankfully!! It's a Bavarian sauerkraut made with white wine.
