Trying to achieve stronger/better flavors and smells

Look into sea minerals and the theory behind it, mind blowing stuff. I've been using Sea 90 for a while and the bud it produces is some of the best I've ever smoked. There is also a product from Yellow Bottles that has less sodium if salt buildup is a problem. However I've been using Sea 90 with a bit of Drip Clean in a recirculating system and it burns nice and clean without even flushing the coco before harvest. Sodium may not even be a problem, I've actually seen quite a few studies that show plants thriving in high sodium environments.

I've also been looking into fulvic acid, but it's expensive so I'm going to get some powder soon and try it out. Saves a bunch not having to ship 90% water solution. I use mostly dry nutrients and mix up a blend that's a fraction of the cost of high end liquid nutrients, and I get much better quality and yield. The fulvic will bring cost up quite a bit, but it might pay off. Maybe I'll see some results like the Aptus threads.

These are pictures comparing my current nutrient mix to what I was using before, General Organics.

Carboload and liquid bud swell all you need. If you stick with kool bloom only use it one feed per week no more. CAnna is good but green tasting. Organic supplements only things that will add depth to natural flavors and carb will bring them out.

Boost is expensive for a reason. It is the best tria on the market. Foliar spray it the first 3 weeks of flower if needing to save $.
Other ways to help flavor and aroma sugars with sulfur/mag and fulvic acid

Lots of people pushing solutions in a bottle...

I use nothing but blackstrap molasses, oregonism xl and mountain spring water from seed to chop - best flavor I've ever had and that's with trying every sugar/flavor product out there.

Genetics have alot to do with flavor and smells. If you have a weak Pheno no matter what u do as far as nutes wise will never help achieve those smells or taste's. The second most important part of smell and taste is the drying process and curing process. I use botnicare and always have nice smelling "Loud Packs".

But if you want to try and add some flavor and taste I would say maybe add some Guano's during flower with a top dressing. Also add some Tea's once a week with some Black Strap Molasses. Those should increase some smells and tastes.

We did top water with Budswel on multiple occasions this round.

Used molasses when I was a soil grower. Definitely going to reintroduce sugars into my schedule.

Boost is expensive for a reason? $400+ for one and a third gallons? And that price doesn't include a handjob?

Fuck moving bud. Canna Boost is where the big money is.

Chem D...Chem Sister. Two legendary phenos with notoriously strong smells and flavors. We are drying/sweating/curing savants. I'm well aware a good grow can go to shit if the final processing stages are ignored. We are just continuing to try to raise the bar on ourselves.

i know a guy that worked for big dispensary in CO with like 2k plants and the master grower there swears by the sweeteners in the bottle idk if they work or not. just going by what someone in the business of making money says lol. i dont use anything. just veg + bloom. i have had shit with no cure time at all that stinks and never went through that wet grass phase in the jar. is that typical? not at all. that strain is just amazing!

Wet grass phase in the jar? I've only experienced that with weaker strains. Sea minerals bring out so much smell I don't even have that wet grass phase while drying anymore, just straight skunk.

Slow controlled on the branch dry times do make a huge difference in aroma for me. Cant be stressed enough.

Too fast and I see reduced pungency.

Bud dried on a rack (despite even having NOT machine trimmed) still results in a less smack you in the face smell.

We dry...and then sweat...on the branch. Not until cure does it get clipped off. Friend from High Times introduced me to the "sweat" phase. It immediately made smells and flavors stronger.

Here are some pics that demonstrate how well the sea salt has been working. These plants are on 1/3 strength Jacks Professional and 1 ml per gallon Protekt silica, with 1 tsp per gallon of Sea 90. Keep in mind it's been -25 degrees outside and they've been getting hardly any air exchange, so they'll do even better when it warms up.

Spread the word longwaters! Another faithful Sea-90 user here. As soon as you stated "no more wet grass taste stage" I had to chime in because that's so true bro! Been using it religiously since spring 2012 and I can't see myself growing without it. I bought a 15 lb. bag and that'll probably last forever, I've been giving out quite a bit just to let my peeps see the difference it makes for themselves. All my plants, no matter what the genetic profile have increased smells and vigor, oh and I don't use calmag ...no even for Chems and OGs ....I've even eaten it!

I foliar weekly/bi-weekly @ 1/4 tsp gallon, water with a pinch - 1 tsp per gallon, and I add 1 - 2 tsp per gallon of compost tea and brew 24 - 36 hrs. before using, works magic for me! I have some of Yellow Bottles SeaMinerals but haven't used it.

I just read this page. People pulling fully cured weed from the stem. Either I want whatever strain they've got...or these people are not aware of how to cure product.
