True HP aeroponic system equipment questions

So I am gonna make it quick, i am making my own system indoor in 4x4 x7 tent, will have 6-8 plants total (long vegetation looking for full potential growth)

-Using 600w hps and MH lights w/ 6" cooling reflector

now questions:
- should i use aquatec 8800 (120psi) by itself or do i have to buy another pump and use aquatec as booster?
(any good suggestions to how keep pressure in pvc pipes @ constant 100 psi for 60 sec on and 6 min off? )

- should i use 4" inline fan or 6"? what about the filter?

-how big of rez do i need ? how much water? (doe it matter or just use common sense?)

-planning on bio tech .26 orfice nozzles (any comments or advice?)

-which liquid nutrient is the best based on ur experience?
what are your suggestion of ppm at different phases?

thank you for your help and you shall see what your help has gotten me as i proceed and make my 1st aero journal along the way

omfg, where to start...

Alright so first off you need to read more there bubs... No offence but judging from those questions you need to find the answers for yourself. Google is the word ya?

First off you should check out the Rookie aero grow together thread thats usually on page 1 of the hydro forum, and read.

Not to be a dick but your talking about setting up high pressure aero system, and if you had done research on that, and read through the experiences of people like Petflora, etc. you would realize how far down the rabbit hole goes with aero. HP (and i guarentee someone will correct me if im wrong) isnt feasible given yields, cost, time. Go low pressure if you are deadset on aero, Aerokrafter is getting between 2.5-3.5 # per light, your not going to get those numbers unless your doing vert.

your trying to get a degree before even picking up book so to speak...

My first setup was a 4x4 /w 1000w, go with the 6" fan bubs...

Bigger res means going longer between top ups, ph drifts slower, temps are cooler with more water, as you will read :)

Best of luck, feel free to come and join us in the Rookie Aeroflo Grow Together thread!

Thanks for your reply. So are you saying that low pressure is easier and just as good? I mean Ive been reading A lot trust me these questions are to re assure what I have learned. But can u get 50 micron droplets in a low pressure setup? And if not then isn't 30-80 micron needed for the aero system to work properly? Please give me link to the thread

No offense man, but you just haven't done enough reading.

You will be hard pressed to find anyone running a HP system 1 min on. Most run for a short fraction of a second burst or slightly more.

Can a droplet be 50 micron's out of a lp sprayer? Sure. Are all of them consistently? NO way.

I wouldn't say it's just as good. But almost anyone who switched to aero started in LP and then went to HP. The real difference here is the roots that will form in the different environments. If you were to set up the HP system and run it like you described, you would never get the hairy (increased root surface area) roots that the HP guys are shooting for. You will get very similar results to LP aero because your roots will be over-saturated like most lp roots and start to grow like NFT or DWC root masses.

Now to benefit from HP you need to incorporate the proper equipment to get your mist cycles to a fraction of a second/couple seconds. This will include but is not limited to normally a accumulator tank, cycle timer, and solenoids.

With the questions you have asked, you should certainly do some more reading, or try a different method. Again no offense, your just bound for failure at this point. You need to better equip yourself with knowledge. That means going out and researching, not asking for others to point you there.

Google Petflora, podracer, trichy bastard, fatman, and true hp aero for 2011.

Read each of those guys threads (some are over 100+ pages) and then you will know exactly what you need to do and buy. You won't have to ask anyone a damn thing.

Thank you, I will go on with my research. And I am going to start with LP. Hp seems a lot more complicated and that can wait for the future. at this time i am going to build the vinyl post style for my aero system with 6 plants on 2 rails.

Great idea man!

Great idea man!

I think you are taking a good path.

Most the stuff you get for LP can be used in HP as well.

Not to mention how much cheaper and easier it is to set up LP.

Hope you have looked through the rookie aero flow thread. Lots of good info in there on LP. Learning a bunch of stuff from it.

Best of luck man!

Yes the 8800 will be fine on its own. Not sure of the specs on your nozzles but match up the flow rate to the pumphead (their are different 8800 and 6800 models) don't use pvc manifolds the volume is too big to get a precise interval spray. Use 1/4" line rated for 150psi+ and ro push fittings like watts or john guest. You can find fittings with 1/4" pushfit to 1/8" fnpt which most nozzles are. Buy a proper digital cycle timer from your local electrical supplier (NOT an arte dna or grow specific timer, they don't dial down <5 seconds and <7 once the circuit warms up) the aquatics will prime to full pressure in <1s if set up correctly with short runs and balanced pressure. I cycle at 3s on 600s off with an 6800 and my trees love it :)
