I'm soon coming to my first harvest of my life. First grow, 90x 90 x 160x, 8 different strains - 8 pots just to be safe. If i'd failed I would atleast have had a few alive and doing well hopefully doing my research since the project started so fast because iam like iam. Either way thats a whole other story,
been a blast and seem to be going ok.

I'm in week 8 and will within not to long time start to harvest the first strain, maybe a few weeks.
Its a project me and my gf started and use it for antistress and backpains also to not have anything to do with the dealers.

Either way to the point!

I have thought of so many ways to dry the weed. Had a few plans to build my own stuff in a box look alike system with a hole and fan etc. Its just that i'm a bit worried of the smell also but it should be fine. I'm just overcautious I guess.

I cant find any info here in this side of the world so i'm asking you for help. I also googletranslated probably better than my english anwyay :)

Dries effectively all kinds of mushrooms, fruits, vegetables and herbs. No additives are needed which produces natural and rich taste. Fresh goods will taste new picked even after several years and retains all the vitamins. Motor with fan - for perfect results thanks to high air flow and low drying temperature. 5 drying bars - large drying surface 34 cm in diameter. Overheat protection. Easy cleaning. Transparent lid. Switch.

Is this to good to be true? How much would it lower the thc%? Flavour? Any other negative/positive effects?

Thanks in advance.

Never heard of anyone using a food drier, but would be interested in the results of other peoples' 'research'. Stay safe!

i'm sure it dries effectively, but the taste of your weed will be horrible!
you can also dry in a oven or even a microwave, but there is a reason why people dry slow, put the weed with some moisture left in jars and open them from time to time...
developement of good taste needs time, no way to make it faster...

this machine does nothing but blowing hot (warm) air at the herb as i understood....

Thanks for the replies guys!

Anyone that has info on a proper research about it? If lets say this dryer has 5x different time settings at different temperatures. Should this not really have the biggest impact if this thing is crap for my purpose or not? Just thinking..

Benefits and losses etc % wise etc etc.

Would really be intressting to read. Thanks again for the replies, much appreciated.

It's great for making bananna chips, drying apples and beef jerky. I would not use it for drying cannabis. It will dry it too fast (even at the lowest settings) and you'll get harsh bud that tastes like dried grass.

the secret to using a food dehydrator is to not dry the buds completely. Use the dehydrator to remove about 80% of the moisture, then remove the bud and let it re-distribute the remaining moisture from the stems back into the drier leaves. Let the last bit of moisture dry naturally, and your buds will be fine. You can then put them into jars (or smoke them) after a couple of days.

ive played round with one quite a bit before,
and u can dry a quick smoke reasonably well,
with a bit of mucking around ,
but as the guys said,
its nothing like just drying it naturally ,
why dont you try that first??

As difficult as the wait may be....id dry it the conventional way 1st....or better yet, if yer bent on using this...do half the regular way and half with the machine. See which way you like the best

Tried one of these years ago and it just ruins the herb, sure it's smoke-able but it tastes like shit as most quick dry methods do to the herb :puke:
Better off harvesting and drying properly, you'll appreciate it much more when you have bags of delicious proper dried herb to bags of over dried chlorophyll filled herb that no one will want to smoke let alone buy :tiphat:

Exactly! There is no better way, IMHO. A decent food dehydrator is designed to perfectly dry everything from herbs to mushrooms to bannana slices to beef strips. There should be zero loss of flavor or potency, and if done correctly, you should be left with a pure, clean product. The device you have listed should work wonders.
