LED News sound like a very good idea, but I think we must stay on the "growing lights" niche. I don't mean just the LED lights designed especially for plant growing, but every LED light that can be used to grow something green.

I use to post in a thread on Romanian section news about different types of LED lights, to help other LED enthusiastic growers learn more about this type of light.

Should we expect to a price drop of actual XM-L LED family ? This sound encouraging for DIY LED enthusiasts. :good:

THIS IS A .PDF SO SOME SORT OF READER IS NECESSARY.....

Thank you for the info., Vukman! I was wondering why things look so strange after I stare at the underside of my light...LOL. Kidding of course, but I think everyone with LED's probably spaces out here and there and inadvertently get's an eyeful upon occasion. Mine is actually uncomfortably bright, so it kind of hints to you not to stare...besides it being impolite and all...

Don't look at the blue, gentlepeople!

LEDopers,
I have to think that some of the major lighting players are working hard on their own LED's. Surely, Hydrofarm, Lumitek, et al are not going to wait to be left in the dust. They've got $, staff, facilities, distribution, etc. in place and if they enter the market with break thru quality lights, they'll force the price down, or kill the small fry. Or they may buy out some of them.

I think at that point LED's will get a lot more affordable. I'm forced to wait till then. Has anyone heard any such news? Thanks. -granger

I don't think that LED light producers will invest to much in LED research, because the technology will be applied not only on plant grow but especially on SSL (solid state lightning ).

They should invest their money in spectrum composition, to find the best 'blend' for their products and to promote lighting schedule targeted to strains (if possible).

It would be nice to have something like a 'Lucas Formula' for light

sweet thread idea vukman!

you need to do a weekly led report on your youtube channel and get some video updates a rollin.

have you sitting there looking like a news anchor, smoking a bowl and spreading some knowledge to the world.

that would ROCK or I am high as hell right now or both hmnnn.
