Condensation in Loft.

Hi all.

I was wondering if this could be from me exhausting into the loft.

I have 5 plants under a 400w filtered through a Rhino.

House is a typical 2 bed semi.

It had been fine for the last two years.

Also iv got about 6 weeks before i could allow a pro in to have a look. Will me roof fall down in that time? Or am I being paranoid.:joint:

Any advice welcome.

As you can see DIY is my forte

Yes mate exhausting warm air into a cold loft will cause condensation mate, try taking it straight out or building a lung room up there and extract it from that out under the slates.

Hope you sort it mate, it will be fine for the 6 weeks but there will probably be a bit of mould appearing.

you need a dehumidifier, maybe you can rent one .

I was going to suggest this but unless used as a drying room quite an expensive addition, in usage and purchasing. I should know I have a couple for the flowering and drying rooms. Maybe one of those tumble drier things that the hose goes into to collect dust, but use those dehumidifier crystals in it to capture moisture from the warm air, and feed your extraction hose into it? :tiphat: http://www.dry-it-out.com/tumble-dryer-condenser-box-kit

Couple of things you could do.

If you extend your ducting to around 5 mtr in the loft, the air will have cooled/condensed inside the ducting, if you hook the ducting over the beams in a horse shoe stylee, and put a bucket underneath with a sponge inside it, it will then drip into bucket, fall on sponge and make no drip drip drip sound.

Ime it takes a 600w 8 days to fill a 40ltr bucket.

remove 4 bricks in the chimney Brest poke ducting inside a couple of inches and reseal.

If you have a fan extractor in your bathroom then you can hook up your extraction directly into that duct, depending on the size of your extraction you might need a reducer but it's a great way to get rid of all that heat and moisture. The spray foam insulation is a good aide for sealing everything into place.

Guys thank you all so much.

I had shortened the amount of ducting i was using and that is probably what is causing it to happen all of a sudden.

Hope you all had a Good Christmas. Ill increase the ducting again.
