Whats your favorite microscope for examining your tasty trichromes with?

I hate the radio shack 12 dollar poopers, used my friend scope with LED, pretty sweet.

Want to see what else is out there

For trichomes I use a good quality 10x jeweler's loupe. For microbes I use a student microscope, simple compound bright light or whatever they're called. I want to get a microscope like Microbeman uses, but I haven't grown up yet.

I have been searching for some kind of hardware + App for a ANDROID phone to have a very light weight portable USB Microscope and to be able to use my phone screen to view.....has anyone seen this solution or did I just describe a new business model for someone smarter than me?

Sorry Mega business model exists, at least in the IPhone world... seen something like that advertised by a company called gro1 I believe. Its an Iphone case with a lens built in that lines up with the camera lens of the phone. Problem with a setup like that for Android is there is so much various on cases and lens placement. I personally have a Windows phone so i'm fucked.

I have a 30X/60X loupe... for now. A buddy has a 100X radioshack pocket scope that is awesome, I'm gonna pick one up as an Xmas present to myself.

this is my take.. and yes I had like 3 different scopes, until my box didn't show up at my new house...

your eye. take a look at visual ques on the plant to know when to chop:

-yellowing / senescence / time / bud swell / hair change / watering / smell / trich production / you can even see with your eye red trichs / full cloudy trichs.... get a feel and you don't need something to replace experience / instinct / intuition

keep it simple, the less crap the better

but if you don't want the easy way, or don't want my advice, look at jewelers loupes, here

There's an easy method for viewing with a loupe... let me see if I can find a YouTube or something demonstrating the technique.

Here we go. This isn't quite the method that I use, I make a tripod out of my hands, putting my wrists together, but this method is very good, too.

I am looking into getting a digital USB microscope that will output video and images to my monitor.

Can anybody suggest one to me?

I am looking at a Veho 400x, but it looks pretty much the same as several other USB microscopes under different brand names, which makes me suspicious that it's just re-branded Chinese junk.

DSLR are the best as far as pic quality. I just sold my DSLR. I loved the camera it just took a long time to setup a macro shot that had super hi res quality. My pics with the Nikon 8200 are very good for documenting my grows. I can use a Loupe to check if ready to harvest. Maybe someday I will get another DSLR. I had one of those Intel usb scopes it worked OK. If you really need one there's allot on ebay.
