no worries DHF, ain't the first time i did something outrageous that worked.

i didn't think the op asked about keeping them in his cold garage where he would need help keeping them warm. it sounded temporary. so i offered a temporary solution.

we haven't all been growing for twenty plus years so anytime i hear advice i gotta pay attention. experience plays a huge role in who i choose to listen to also, so i defer to your experience...

...and you know i did try many ways.

i have 76* water, 60* ambient, 60% rh, plain well water, and i don't snip the leaves. this after trying all the other ways. pucks, plain dirt, potting soil only, rockwool, cup of water, willow water, all the stuff the cloner came with (aquashield et al.), and it sits under 15 watts floro. no dome.

you're right though, there are many ways to do it. but when one way adds up to 100% you kinda know it's enough.

:ying:

I bet the box rig works well for a temporary fix, but I too wish to learn and apply for the long haul, but for what it's worth...I'd be leery of putting a heating element in a box...even with a thermostat, one little short or something goes wrong (electrically) and it could burn pretty quickly.

scares me sometimes. the stuff people say.

whenever would 75*f start a fire?

I use them occasionally for sitting on, laying on...i've never combusted...jus' sayin' bro.

Well dude, obviously the heat pad functioning normally wouldn't start a fire...I'm not an idiot. I'm simply stating that if (if) something went wrong (faulty connection, faulty plug, overload, etc...) then one could have a fire. Gimme a break
