Ok so heres the deal..
I have a D.H.N. Cherry pie cut i got from harbor side b4 they shut down..
This strain dose herm and throw nanners with pollen that is apparently viable.. Ii was curious so i collected a few and didi the time tested pich and twist the nanners over 2 nugs of the pbk (purple bubba kush) and waited 3 or 4 weeks b4 chopping.. I ended up with 27 beans

So i know they will carry the herm trait but what is the next step of stablizing these? They grow basicaly identical and almost look the same in nug formation just taste and small diffrent.. Dose anyone see any issues in the comming future when i pop these beans...?

Isn't the Pie a polyhybrid? If so, you will probably see some variation.

As far as stabilization goes, it's really a matter of your selection skills and how much time and effort you are willing to put into it.

Grow them all, select the ones that meet your criteria the closest (males and females), make a lot of seed and repeat until you are happy.

Worst case scenario is that you find something even better

No probs bro, neg reps mean zip to me anyway.

I've grown seed from herms before and yes they will produce males. In nature, herms are a last ditch effort to reproduce.

Fems are a different story, as the mothers that are reversed are selected based on their lack of inter-sex traits.

The biggest issue you will face is that herms tend to beget more herms, but you already knew that.

Good luck, you've got some beans with some serious potential

Thanx again welder, yeha im not against spending extra time on them cuttn nuts off if the end product comes out anything like either one of these two...
I also dusted my favorite pheno of skywalker and a mr. Nice, to hopefully lower the flower time of both and maybe just maybe dense the flower up a lil...

So lets say ive been bitten by the chucker bug lol...

Yeah, once you make your first cross, there's no going back. I haven't paid for beans in years. Between crosses, trades, and crosses of trades I've got years worth of material. And I'm planning more crosses of stuff I already have.

Quite the satisfying hobby

Lol i must say ive only heard about how big of a pain in the ass crossing is and how its not worth it, but i must say it was pretty flippin easy.. But all iv done is make them not testem... And not to mention its fun holdin a hand full of beans i would would have never been able to afford let alone find in bean form but yeha gota say thanks every one hear for inspiring me to give this whole makein seed thing a go... And hey i may jusyt get the whole idea and come up with a new strain for the server some day...

What you should do is pop all of them , and essentially flower out each one - taking cuttings during veg stage and labeling all of them; keeping notes as you go on. They'll have the herm trait, but look for ones that in the end did it less (after weighing out/choosing preferred potency/production> taste/smell> structure/resistance - and much uncommon double node or variegation traits are good mutations to pick out if expressed) .

But in this case, the genetic jackpot for what you're wanting to do (eliminate herm trait) is if, you have a hermaphroditic male (a male flower expressing female stigmas, way uncommon rarer mutation) and dust it with a non herm female or stable clone, you will then yield viable seeds that are all female pop rate with little to no herm rate, works like a fucking charm - if you win the genetic lottery that is.
I hope anything I have said helps, since I'm assuming you're going to collect pollen etc; it has to be dusted fairly quickly after harvesting or (most common cases) immediately prepared for storage after harvesting.

To check if a male flower is ready to be harvested (must have far distance/separate or sanitary facility distance away from the girls) just gently tap the cone and see if she dusts a tiny bit, if so get an envelope or piece of paper taped in the shape of a cone (with the 0 tape showing to stick inside, covering all surface of paper tightly) and dust him in; then take the pollen into a glass vial or mason jar (plastic retains moisture, more on this shortly) and then using an Identifying Desiccant (we want identifying so youll know when moistures been retained and you can dry it back out in an oven and keep getting moisture out until the color stops turning; also available online for cheap or whatever you get them in person) prepare the pollen to be fridged for 2 days (prefreeze) before then being put into the freezer where it will last for years if properly preserved, and even being viable FOREVER if kept in liquid nitrogen , though im sure 4-8 years is long enough for the next time you wanna dust ahhaha... good luck let me know if any of this helped and if theres anything else on your mind. Oh right all of this is a precaution because if any moisture is still in the pollen when its frozen, water expansion will render it inviable.

Edit: one last thing I was going to mention, the male herm trick is really useful around the f3 -f5 line when you've concentrated a lot of traits and expressions out of the pool you've bred down and make them pop female with no herming.. a thought for something that could be tried if a male herm ever pops up just dust something to experiment while also saving the much plentiful pollen for the future (circa f2 - f5 line) to see how that goes...

400W will suffice just fine, I have my 3 studs under 400W freezing in their temporary setup and they're doing great. If you have a buddy - or even better your own facility for males, you could just run every seed to flower, move out the males once expressed/before they pop sacks, to your buddies or have him watch the girls, either way. I might have pictures of the boys room when the lights go on in a few..
