if you take something big enough to clone there wont be a node left on the original plant.... u need to let them veg longer.

I just tried the same thing using the first bits I topped. I tried straight in to dirt and into rock wool. No rotting hormone. 2 made it. I would wait as well, but if you want to try it wait until you have can cut a tip off that has at least 1/2 stem. Rooting compound will help.

Better idea is to clone later and take bigger clones, I'm thinking that the bigger clones have bigger leaves that hold more auxins that promote the rooting action.

If you dont have much time to veg then flip them into flower and take cuttings later.
If you top these plants in 3 days youre fucked!
Are you foliar feeding or whats going on with those leaves?

lol baths right on sweetest the link i provided gives some spot on info for how to properly take and root cuts. on icmag theres mucho info on cloning i use a DYI clone bubbler or rockwool either way gives me 99-100% sucess

its really better to wait untill the plant can afford 2-3in cut taken from it's top or allow the plants lowers to veg out and take them.

never know the plant that wasnt cloned could have been a winner :)

i gues u dont have a veg room and bud room if you do keep a few plants in veg room and wait till they are big enought to clone then clone i have not had good luck cloneing young plants but i have clone verry small cuts of well estableshed plants DONT clone a plant less than 4 weeks old unless you have good side branching

so far they look ok how long where the cuts

shortest cuts i've taken is 1.5in of stem but i prefer them around 3in long

word up fresh cut n planted clones dont require much light min light is best like maybe a 20watt cfl 1ft above it. once roots hit em with more lighting closer.

What I go by to judge good clone material, or not, is the stiffness of the stem/branch you're cloning. You want to clone a stem that feels like a twig when you try to bend it not a noodle. If it bends easily you will not have great results. If you're clone's stem is stiff like a twig you're good to go.
