it looked nasty. might have a crazy sativa high but everything else about it looks shwaggy.

i prefer the VB over the dalat as well. Dalat needs lots of work to make it a decent line.
Dalat would make a great lifetime work.........if you were still in your 20s, lol

Actually you kind of hit the nail on the head with that comment. Dalat was a strain I have had my eye on since I saw a few of the old hippy types growing it on the CC forums god knows how many years ago maybe 8-10 years now. Now I am just entering my 30's and want to dedicate alot of my remaining years on this earth to bringing about new varieties and stabilized lines of landraces and hybrids using whatever "old world" genetics are still available in the purest form I can find. Just seems that life keeps getting in the way.
if thats the goal, Dalat would definitly be a starting point. back on OG when Di Wee Dalat passed out the seed, there were a few that had found some decent plants, as far as high goes.
i grew about 9 females, and all were hay imo. huge fast, and stretch like no other. buds were like birds nests, stringy, gigantic but nothin but air with tito calx.
made a bunch of seed and sent um back to marksurfs, i keep a outcross i did with a JacksCleaner BC1 males. never have gotten to um, just havent really had the spark to wanna see whats in um.

Does anyone on these forums have a way to get ahold of Reeferman? I have some questions that I guess I should ask the man who hunts down landraces about... anyone know how close a relation Hoa Bac has to VB or Dalat, or if VB and Dalat share parentage somewhere?

Vietnam Da Lat is a local vietnamese heirloom sativa from the area with the same name in south Vietnam, close to Nha Trang. I think Vietnam Black is a hybrid between this southern strain crossed with a northern/chinese father, with compact structure and faster flowering to bring down the sativa mother flowering time, probably very similar to the Yunnan chinese strains probably.
Vietnamese sativas, specially the southern ones have a great fame, strong effect and great quality... I think there are some similar strains to dig like the Wilijuana from Reeferman (vietnam X burmese) and even Orient Express (Vietnam Black X China Yunnan) and Vietnam Black X Meao Thai from ACE Seeds. Great representations of vietnamese sativas nowadays.
