Put on some insulated coveralls, hit the bowl one time, and layed in the backyard. Saw a bunch. There was one big one that I particularly liked.

I always live in big cities with a lot of light pollution. A couple of times I went to the trouble of driving about an hour into the boonies to avoid the light. Each time was a big let down, barely any streakers noticeable. Except this one time...me and a couple of friends were just standing in this state park's parking lot, drinking brewskies, not even looking up at the sky and WHAMMO, there was this huge bright flash, lit the entire parking lot up, we all looked up immediately and saw this fucking awesome streaking ball of fire, lasted for about 3 seconds or so. That was amazing, but still felt cheated about the rest of the night.

Clear Crisp and cold rain coming by 5am.

EDIT: WAS clear, crisp and cold. Now overcast and cold. Missed it. Tomorrow is a chance again.

not sure ifits the same type of shower.. but as a child 11yr i was hanging out with the older kids it was around midnight, didnt know it was going to happen but suddenly some1 said wow look at that.. and no word of a lie there were meteor's flying everywhere.. 100's at a time some slow, some uber fast, they went from 1side of the horizon to the other in split second.. light trails were amazing.. first time seeing it and the last time!

will always remember that night.

I miss star gazing in the desert outside Tucson when we lived there. The night sky was amazing. Too much light pollution here and we're even considered the boonies.

That said, a little more than 35 years ago a friend and I camped in the Colorado Rockies and saw the most amazing meteor shower I have ever witnessed. The ones I saw in the desert did not compare, though they were nice and all.
