I could give a bunch of reasons, but for me the first time I got high it was an epiphany. I said to myself, this is the best thing ever! Sort of love at first toke.

I had to give it up for 20 years while I raised my family in the military. I still had a life without it, but it wasn't as fulfilling to me as it was before and after. I honestly think part of my problems with alcohol began as I tried to replace cannabis with booze. Bad trade and stupidly impossible.

My first use resulted from curiosity.
Then to ease teen angst & boredom.
It developed into a social habit.
Then I gradually began to use for introspection & a form of sacrament.
It still works for all of these purposes
But now I'm legal to grow & smoke for pain.

For creativity ( song writer and drummer ). Relaxing and socialising. It's my only addiction and keeps me away from other drugs, especially alcohol.

I like to get high and stoned because I like the feelings of these, love growing and trying different strains.........and I could go on and on.

In our band, it's a ritual. We get high and play Tom Petty and Pink Floyd mostly. Been doing it with the same people for 30 years. We've lost members over the years, but the rest of us are still together.

We can reliably lower property values wherever we play. A picture of the coffee table in our band room was published in the local magazine. No comment was necessary. It was obvious that a good time was had.

I have always felt a kinship with the misfits of the world; the artist, writers, freethinkers and others that do not think that society is always right as a whole. Many of these people also smoke a little weed and I smoke it with them.

That was me! I still remember the first time I smoked. I loved the feeling as it washed over me. Simple as that--loved the feeling.

Now? I use it medicinally to stay off opiates for pain control.

I smoke weed coz i love the taste and the high and it helps with my trapped nerve pains in my hip that sumtimes make me collapse.
