So I look last night and find my white fly population has grown beyond accepted levels.
This a outdoor grow brought inside to finish.
30 days inside... I have a choice to either cut now even though u can tell she wants to grow more or
I can spray and cut in 2 weeks.

? Is will habanero soaked in warm warter/cooled then srayed affect the taste and quality ?

I screwed my last grow spraying oils for mites...

I'd reckon yes this far into flower, it would effect taste n' smell. Habaneros are pungent for sure, grew a shit ton of them made lots of hot sauce.

I'd try spraying with pyrethrum if you're able to dry the plant out without mold/mildew setting in.

Cold night time temps might kill some of these pests and keep things under control before harvesting. I think their eggs have up to a 12 day cycle, so repeating the cold snap once a week might help. :dunno: Good luck. :)

Pretty much anything sprayed on buds this late into flower will have some effect on the final outcome of the product. And washing anything you sprayed on the plants after the flys have died, will leave you susceptible to budrot, mold, mildew. etc. If this were veg it would be another story.

Best of luck to you, this is a nail bitter.

DO NOT SPRAY PYRETHRUM ON A FLOWERING PLANT EVER, ESPECIALLY NOT IN FLOWER. No pest strips will knock them out in a couple days. Put a couple in the room and seal it as long as possible. NEVER EVER EVER SPRAY A FLOWERING PLANT, please.

Took it the a different level... took the ladies to the shower and gave them a good washing... I was reading how some
People wash their buds under cold water after cutting if the had bugs. I figured better to give a few more days in the soil to recover.
So I washed everything really good then tapped the excess water off. Took a hairdryer set on cool and did a few quick passes.
Took back under the lights which I raised a few inches and only had 10 minutes till they turned off. I have a fan on high drying them the rest of the way. The ladies looked so clean and healthy already. I dont think I lost tricks or anything either. Water drops on the tips of frosty tricks.. drooling big time...
Anyways. Looks like problem solved... thanks for taking the time y'all.. peace out...

My advice to spray with pyrethrum was pure speculation and to be taken with a salt block. ;)
The guy at the hydro store told me I could spray up to a few days before harvest if the mite problem was serious enough. Of course, that's an extreme measure and I would not entertain that idea for a moment... but if you are at a crossroads of spraying a short half-life insecticide one month prior to harvesting OR throwing the plants on a compost heap... IF IT WERE ME... I would spray. :dunno:

cut or no cut ?

cut or no cut ?

Border haze Day 170 from popping.*
Day 133 flowering*
Day 31 Inside under 430W HPS

So is it just me or is this a crazy amount of time to flower?
Even given the fact it was outside with little lite most of the time.

They withstood the shower for bugs quite well tho the beautiful silver hairs turned red.

I see no bugs and she seems strong.
I only have a 20x scope and as far as I can see the tricks are mostly cloudy yet no amber.*

I cant tell whether or not ta cut.
*I could use a little guidance or advice.

I understand it is a hard call using pics.

My feeling is she was stunted a couple times.Hardest when she was moved inside.
Almost as tho she re-flowered...

Then a few days ago when the white flys and other bugs population exsploded over night.

Im thinking some of the yellow is sun burn from the HPS.
These pics are the day after the shower.

Any insite would be appreciated...****

I'm so far from able to offer expert advice but my thoughts on the matter are this:

You could harvest and use your area for starting over. You'd have bud to smoke/share and you will be on the path to another harvest with the new plants.

Or you could let your patience and curiosity rule, seeing these through until they suit your definition of "ready"... Thus adding to your personal grower's experience.

 Kinda thought I might get that for an answer...

Thanks Y'all for the 2 cents. Much appreciated... :tiphat:

Had ta pull out the trimmers and have at em this morning...

Given the grow conditions (harsh) and the amount/quality (Descent) I am more than happy with the out come and the fact that I have
hundreds of beans for this strain...
Looks like Ill be happy for years to come.
