What exactly is a Hashplant?

Yeah, hash is/was produced in a lot of places. Different regions, different strains, different environment. Depending on the region, it could have been Indica or Sativa, or a hybrid. The main requirement was resin production. Hash has a good shelf life and is easier to transport compared to herb, so the most resinous plants were always selected.

Both of the offerings ive grown from the retail outlets was weak smoke to the point i wont grow another "hashplant" or even a hashplant cross. Ive grown sensi's and its a 7 at best in potency, dinafems is a 6. Ive grown a couple of hashplant crosses.

Most descriptions say "mellow" or mild and they mean it in my view. Neither of the strains above procuced 1/2 the resin glands of a lot of white strains. If your in afghanistan, there may be some decent "hashplants" but i think its a gimmic when you see it advertised.

go to austin and find some hashplant...it will blow your mind and set a new standard for how herb can taste, smell, and affect anyone around...

hp 13 crosses are amazing. jj from top dawg has several and rare dankness has the pineapple hashplant with the legendary hp13 as well. "makes other weed taste like hay" jason king has said.

personally i would say anything kush or aghani would be a hashplant, anything from that region like pakistan, afghanistan, nepal, morocco maybe.. most indicas i would say were hashplants, not just the strains called hashplants.

I would say that a hashplant is a strain of cannabis which is used traditionally by the farmers to harvest resin/charas from them... be it in Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan or North India. Another different thing is Sensi's strain... obvioulsy an indica that comes from a tradicional hash region.

You are talking about a specific cut/clone that not many people outside of Texas know about. But yes, it is fantastic. It's not related to anything sold on the open seed market called "Hashplant" IMO though.

different strokes for different kind of folks i guess...

originally it was any plant used for producing hasjisj... nowdays i guess it's the ELITE *cough cough* HP13 or sopn like that... since there is a crossroad, either a HASJ plant for hasjisj manufacture, or buds which "taste" hashy ...

by the way what was the question again? dichotomy of c.s.s.???

you're right...and it tastes like ruby red grapefruits...has a similar effect of making other weed taste like hay...bred in 91ish..named for it's epic resin production...she's kinda hard to grow these days, so an attempt at a refresh is in the works..

I think the hashplants are more leafy than what you normally grow. The leaves are resin coated and easier to get that resin off of than a bud.

Thanks everybody.

I was pretty sure that it had at least something to do with resin production, and that hashplants could be either Sat or indie, but I just was not positive. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

early 2000's it was a specific strain and the most notable variety was from seedvendor "Reeferman". It was a hearty plant, mixed sativa/indica, kindof a compromise between vigor, strength, taste. Commonly recommended for trees and commercial growing. I grew a 4 lb tree with that strain (in my sig) and the old KBS crew touted it as a good strain for KBS bucket systems commercial grow.
