I mix a seedling mix which contains only limed peat and a touch of EWC. These seedlings are fine until transplant into 1 gallon pots from beer cups. Then they get the soil everything else does.

That's some shit right there. Stay strong, buddy.

Anyways, I start in peat pellets and water them with kelp tea. After a couple of days they move into small pots of my regular soil mix. No layers or spikes or diluted mix shenanigans. Not really answering your question exactly, I know, but that's what I've seen work well with my setup.

Thanks, and it totally did, even tho i still didnt post seedling mix which was peat/perlite. they were topdressed with ewc when transplanted to bigger cups, and today everything except flower room will recieve a tea bubbled for 20h, with 1 c ewc, 1/4 cup (or a bit less) of kelp meal, a nd a pinch of rock dust, /couple tbs of neem meal...hopefully this should cover the bases until up-potting
thanks

EWC in small amounts will be ok for your seedlings. I wouldn't use more than 1 or 2 teaspoons top dressed into the soil when they're too young. It also depends on what's int your soil mix to start with. If you're soil is rich you might not even need EWC. It all depends on that aspect imo

It pays to be sensible when starting seeds but if you make a seed bomb from clay and some animal (wallaby) poo the ganja fair sprouts with a wee hard on... :smoke:

In fact i bet you could pop seeds in 100% vermicompost and they would love you for it...

I start in peat pellets under a dome. While waiting for my seeds to sprout, I mix 1 gal pots with EWC, bone meal, bat guano and water the pots with fermented tea and let sit for a few days in the warm veg room until your roots start to poke through the pucks. By this time the soil pots will be living. They spend 10-14 days in 1 gals before roots are shooting out the bottom.

In a 1gal pot i would estimate there to be 4-6 tablespoons of worm poo, 1-2 tablespoons of bone meal and 1 table of bat poo. I have never noticed this to be in excess!

Peat, compost, and some aeration material is all you need for seedlings. Feed them compost tea until transplant into larger pots. Mycho's would be good to apply at this stage as well.

How soon do you feed them the tea? I hear some people say they dont feed seedlings in a mix like that like LC's mix for up to 3 weeks?
