A little about myself and what got me to this point and why I decided to start my 1st grow.
I just finished a two year battle with stage four cancer that almost took me nov 7th last year. Somehow they lucked out and got the right chem combo that dissolved over 20 tumors some the size of tennis balls that almost stopped my heart . It was too close, my wife and I are attached at the hip and that was hard.
So for six rounds of chemo we fought hard PET scan was still dirty but by a miricle the second 3 mo later put me in remission, even survived a pulminary embolism (lung bloodclot) along the way.
After all that I got tired of sitting around and looked at my options. I had friends give me buds to help take the edge off, having the big "C" hanging over your head makes for some sleepless nights, so I got my rec and made it legal like, got into the forums and became completely fascinated by this whole growing world. I hawked my junk gold, found a hydro shop going out of business and made out like a bandit.
Anyways I'm here now and in my 23rd day of flower, happy and excited about whats to come! I want share with you pictures of my garden.
I have another post in the sick plants forum but for the most part they appear
Healthy.

Run down of my garden.

I have 2 strains BC Kush from seed and Herojuana Og from clones.

Fox Farm Ocean Forest w/Mykos n 5 gallon smart pots. DM Gold a&b. Saturator w/ Liquid Light. Add 27. GH Bio Bud. Nutrifield Alaska Pure (flower enhancer). Nutrifield Fulife (fulvic acid). A little Superthrive every couple of weeks. Epson Salt twice 2 weeks apart. Cannazyme and a little molasses. 4x1000 watts. 400 cfm in 6" passive out. Daytime temps are 75-80, night 65-70. Usually the RH is 40-45% but it is between 52-56% due to rain for the last 4 days. For the last 2 weeks I have been feeding them every second watering with 1.5-2 days between water/feed. Nutes are @ 1500 ppm with 6.3-6.5 PH.

How can I do better? Or maybe not as bad?

Brett

Thanks guys for the well wishes and positive attitude, it put a smile on my face. I feel good here at icmag...good ppl here! I am blown away by the sharing and help that goes on on this board. My health is good and I am recovering nicely so I'm going to be around here for awhile. I'm a better person for it. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Devilweed it's funny you mention the green thumb because my wife says that to me all the time..shes like dude you can grow some weed! And out from under the canopy I respond Dear that would be medical marijuana. Here I am 48 yo and when my wife wants me she has to root me out from under my canopy.
Every chance I get no matter who it is if I can have a little bit of a conversation with them I try to convey to them how important it is to not stress over the little things, enjoy what you have, whether it be a lot or a little.....be happy, live right now, its the only thing thats real.

Its nice to hear the crop is going well, being my first time I was not really sure. I am blessed to be here to experience this. More flower pics to come!

Weird its a terrible thing losing loved ones to something like this. I hope my medicine is good so my excess can help those in need.

sorry to hear about the 'c' but glad you're still around to talk about it, ...i like your attitude too, very healthy to be grateful for what you have and hopeful for the future.

...that is an unlooked for therapy i get from my garden, the hope for the future i see in my plants as i watch them grow.

...your garden is much larger than my single 600 and your feeding regimen is WAY more complex than my KISS approach, i've become a real fan of simple over the years, but in looking at your pictures it looks like you may be overfeeding a bit, i see some 'clawing' in some of the leaves and your plants all look dark green in color, both of which could be signs of over ferting. ...and don't take me wrong, overall your garden looks great, amazing for a first timer in fact, ...lol, you should have seen MY first bloom cycle.

anyway, may the road always rise up to meet you brother.

looks real nice, and you have quite an inspiring story, i hope improving health continues for you... Your plants look pretty happy and thats good for any grow let alone your 1st.

the forums are such a collection of knowledge, thats how I learned to grow as well.

sounds like bozo has a couple good observations... thats the only thing I thought too was it sounds like quite a list of products being used, but you did say you were in touch with a hydro store going out of business :) Over the years I've gravitated to simpler/more natural methods, but like you said about being happy, i think you're winning if you're proud of and satisfied with the quality of what you are producing and having fun doing it. And with a passion for growing, your search for knowledge and making what you grow even that much better will take you in the direction you want to go. Not much better than just having your own hands on experience.

I've learned alot and was inspired to go the simple/organic route by the type of info and stuff found in the organics soil forum. but, so many successful methods by so many talented growers on icmag, it just comes down to making the plant happy, whatever way that is, so it can express itself the best its genetics will allow it too :)

I was thinking to myself the other day that I would probably be just as excited with one lamp. I see guys with cfl's having a killer time.....it's all good!
I hear ya on the KISS method, i have just run into an article about super soil
And am very much considering it. Through all my research leading up to my grow I came under the impression that all the different nutes and adds just made things better and so I grabbed up a lot of stuff at a huge discount but as I have progressed I see that more is definitely not always better. The clawing was caused by a vacuum that filled that plant and drip pan overnight....one little oversight and blamm!.
So I'm sitting here thinking about what your saying about too green while looking at a leaf that I plucked and man is it green. Things look a lot different outside the grow room.
Thank you for taking the time to give a heads up I appreciate what your saying.

I actually eat organic so why I didn't grow organic is beyond me...chemo brain! I blame everything on chemo brain now...lol! In the beginning I didn't really consider organic, I just followed the pack and I'm not sure why. It would be better to grow nice clean healthy meds fore sure. I am slowly finding my way.

you're welcome man and i remember how it was in the beginning when i wanted to make everything come out perfect so i bought into all the stuff the guy at the grow shop said, ...and i don't regret any of it, i don't use any of the stuff he sold me anymore, lol, but i don't regret any of it because i learned something from all of it.

...and your garden really does look nice man, and you deserve kudos for that even more because you are a noob, just learning your chops! ...pretty phuckin' awesome if you ask me!

anyway, with you mentioning organics i thought i'd share a few links with you that i know to be good but in my search for the links i see that most are already sticky's in the organic forum so i'll just link you to that page and let you explore a little, i'd recommend you read through most of the sticky's thoroughly and take note of the usernames of some of the people with an eye for members who are still active, ...there are MANY organic growers here who can help you get a handle on things.

btw, while i myself am not growing organically my growbro is and i am often amazed at the results he gets.
