California now has the lowest crime level since 1954!

Largely bullshit statistics.
The whole western world over they conveniently forget to account for three things:
1. Lowered trust in the system and the police. Why call the police when even in the best case of a conviction the perpetrator will laugh the judge in the face?
2. The indigenous populations have been getting far older on average. This should normally cause a big big decline in crime all by itself.
3. Medical technology has gotten so much better. A fuck lot of cases of aggravated assault would have been murder a few decades ago.

California IS cleaning up, I have lived here all of my life. Many of the dirt bags are being chased away. Violence in Mexico has scared the hispancis to the point where they refuse to display themselves. The criminals find better pickings in places like Texas where a convicted felon can legally carry a concealed handgun after a couple years. Heck, in Texas, people tell me stories of all the strip-clubs and booze bars. Sounds like a fun place for a criminal.

In Cali, if you get convicted of a felony, you can NEVER own a gun, EVER AGAIN. (as long as you live in Cali.) People like myself are allowed to carry a concealed handgun, yes, I have a C.C.W. permit. Criminals don't mess with good people anymore in Cali, they know most of the straight-edged people are given CCW permits after taking a class and having a clean record.

Sounds like it's time to lay off some pigs

"Sorry officer donuts, your rights trampling days are over, leave your badge and gun on my desk, and don't let the door hit you in your fat ass on the way out"

Obviously, whatever i`m smoking is not as taxing as what you are smoking. lol.. States differ on their gun/felony ownership rights. Most states will grant gun ownership 3-7 years after release of Habeas corpus due to a non-violent felony conviction.

In the state of California, you can petition to have your rights re-instated but I hear that would be rare.

Yes any gun charge by a felon can be picked up by the Feds but most of the time the Feds only pick it up when they REALLY want someone. I have heard of it happening to M.C. 1%er's more than any other group of people.

If I remember correctly, the federal-felony gun-ban is based on California law. Sadly, Drift is correct. The feds don't care unless they REALLY want you.

..This is interesting..
According to a 21 Sep 2011 "Open Letter to All Federal Firearms Licensees" from ATF, holders of state-issued medical marijuana cards are automatically "prohibited persons" under 18 U.S.C 922(g)(3) and "shipping, transporting, receiving or possessing firearms or ammunition" by a medical marijuana card holder is a violation.

when more states legalize marijuana, who needs a "medical card". I`m happy with my physician`s statement, I don`t want a card. It violates HIPAA and I smell a mutherfukin` lawsuit.
