Naaaa. They'll love you for it. Only the top 19 inches of your canopy gets the proper amount of lumens/light intensity to grow good strong flowers. Anything in the shade will only hinder the growth of the top, stronger, bigger flowers.

Those pics look real good and I'm sure that will help the girls out. I do big treez and I take the bottom half off too. I guess no matter what, the process always feels painful stripping them like that but it's gotta be done
