Anyone see the Lincoln movie?

Boy was I disappointed. I enjoyed the theatrical performances and the special effects, don't get me wrong! The things they can do in Hollywood are amazing! Anyway, I thought the movie was cool and trusted the historical portrayal of our 16th president.

Then I read a review about this book http://www.amazon.com/Forced-into-Glory-Abraham-Lincolns/dp/0874850851 , written by a black man. Boy was I surprised. I wonder why they never taught me in school that Lincoln said:

Can you believe it? I know, me neither. I've been so confused the past couple of weeks I've just had to take bingers and tune out.

old "honest abe" was a politician. the speeches he made changed depending on the crowd he was talking too (and where he was geographically) . i have a feeling if they could have followed him around with a camera and recorded everything he said we would not think he was so honest anymore ........ humans are a very imperfect bunch and our presidents have NEVER been any different.

Horrible movie. It was over before it started.

Lincoln goes to the theater about half way through the movie... I was thinking, " Man short movie but at least they are going to kill him finally."

Wrong. Turns out he just likes the theater... an hour later I was bored outta my skull and wishing I was dead.

Yea wasn't to impressed with it, all they focused on was the 13th amendment. Like 2 and half hour movie about how they tried to get it passed.

But it was boring, I was hoping for a little more action. I caught myself drifting off a few times.

The dude who played Lincoln did a great job though I must say, even though it was boring.
