Isan's Cali Connect/Serious Seeds 2013 MILF HUNT!

Hello everyone. I'm new here and decided it's time to meet some new friends with whom I share a love and passion for a particular herb, and also to share information for the benefit of those yet to come. What better way can there be to meet new friends and to share information than to invite you into my garden?

Welcome to my perpetual garden of peace. I invite you into my private garden and ask you to simply enjoy yourself here.

A little bit about my OP.

Having been out of the grow game for over a decade, starting from scratch I've been slowly rebuilding and upgrading my current garden for about a year now. I've been adding pieces of equipment and making upgrades as I could afford them. I always invest a minimum of 33% of the profits back into the garden's budget.

Right now, and after much planning, experimentation, and reading, I'm 2/3 transitioned into a 9 week rotation perpetual RDWC flower room. This basement located flowering space is 7x7x7 and has central air/heat available (currently sealed off and unused for the winter), a 1k MH w/ 6" AC hood on two stage vent, a 600HPS w/econo-wing (one more to be added by Feb.), an 8" Hurricane mounted on a matching Phresh filter for 24/7 scrubbing and air movement, a 15k BTU portable AC direct vented outside, dehumidifier, passive air intake.

In the veg side I have a cabinet built into one side of my wall in my control room. The part I use for vegetation measures 5.5' wide x 2' deep x 4' tall. Inside lighting I use a mix of warm and cool CFL in banks of 8 in DIY hoods. They're surprisingly effective though not terribly inefficient. They've been low priority planned upgrades. Ventilation is provided by a 50CFM bath fan directly vented outside, passive intake.

As for genetics, I started first with bag seed from some mid's I purchased a few years back. It was all I had and they turned out all-right, but not great either - I desperately needed better genetics!

I took some of the budget and for the first time I ordered new seeds from the internet. I had less then $60 to spend on seeds and I wasn't sure if I would even receive them, I went with High Quality Seeds Afghani Hindu Kush. I grow these out, taking clones, flower them all out for a total of 4 runs. Long story short - that strain was worse than the bag seed! It would get you high, everyone complained about potency, taste, and bag appeal. Could barely sell it at all... schwag! fortunately (or not, lol) it yielded an average of 4 zips per plant and I had totaled 18 plants those runs!

I then was gifted some Blue Cheese seeds at around the same time I received a second order from different internet seed bank. I had placed an order for some THC Bomb. Currently this is what's in my flower room, Blue Cheese and THC Bomb. On the veg side I've started all my freebies and other freebies I purchased off of friends who've also began placing orders to seed banks on my recommendations. I've 6 mothers. Sensi Skunk #1, Fruity Chronic Juice, Kandy Kush, Critical Mass 33, and two Blue CheesThe only strain I've currently flowered out and smoked is the Blue Cheese. This is why I have two moms of her, she's bomb in comparison to the last crap run of AHK! THC Bomb looks dissapointing in comparison too. So I got proactive, looked towards next year, and purchased the bulk of my seeds for next year. Still need a bubblegum, but that will have to wait a few more weeks until the budget allows.

So this spot at ICMAG is going to log my search for a new mother, meet some cool cats in time, and have a great time sharing experiences and ideas. Along the way I'll produce for everyone at ICMAG detailed strain reports, smoke reports, and also chuck the pollen here and there making feminized and regular seeds and hybrids as we go. Should be a good time and an interesting year!

I've just placed the bulk of my seed order for next year and they are expected to arrive in one week. When they arrive the hunt is on. Mission: MILF HUNTER (Mother I'd Like to Find)

Cali Connection Seeds Chem 91

The Sour OG and AK were top picks for me this round. The Deadhead OG was a close third to AK47. I'd was thinking to begin the hunt in the Sour OG, but the Chem 91 seems very interesting too. Any suggestions from anyone on where they might begin this hunt? I looking for potency, taste, bag appeal, then yields, in that order although the last two I think are equally important. Hit me up! And thanks for stopping by.

I'll take some current flowering pictures tomorrow. The BC looks nice at 7 weeks.

Yeah, those Deadhead OG look special, only reason I didn't get a full pack of them is because I was getting the Chem promo too, so I thought maybe if I get a couple studs in the Deadhead I'd just hit a Chem 91 gal with that! Still not sure if the AK over Deadhead was the right choice, but it's awards are hard to ignore. We'll see in time.

Thanks for checking in. :)

Would it be a backcross if you used another deadhead male?
Is that be better than crossing it to a male 91?
Im looking forward to cracking some of those bygo 91's! Wouldnt mind finding a nasty male plant in that bunch to backup the $ I spent on the beans.

I don't think it's considered a back cross without the original mom. Hopefully I'll get a chance to pollinate both ways.

You have the Chem91's?

I bought some Chem Valley, Tahoe and Larrys and got 3 packs of Chem91. I gave away 4 91 beans to a friend who pointed out the BOGO to me.
I thought the Chem91 was considered a backcross because Swerve used the Deadhead OG. The Deadhead male is supposed to come from the same 91 line.
If he used the original mom it would be inbreading.
A typical backcross would be using anything that comes from the same lineage.
I thought if I hit the chem91 with another chem91 seed that would be an F2 and should end up fairly similar.
