I want a nice stainless steel tube to do extractions....tired of the risk of glass shattering.

Went to go buy an Okief and they are sold out. Any good alternatives i can find online?

thanks.

make them yourself... I bought the 66g O'kief I think... and then felt like an idiot for spending the cash on it... had I seen what it actually was I would have picked up the pieces and built a bigger and better one myself...

I'll post a pic tomorrow, if it'll help you visualize what you'd need and how best to put it together?

I asked this question about bigger tubes. I was told you do not want to use anything larger the 1" as the butane does not stay in contact with the material long enough in larger tubes..You would need to use much more butane with larger tubes. you can have longer tubes but not wider Thast what I was told.. Jump said any plumbing pipe will work fine. It will cost you more to make on then a new Okief does.. When will they be back in stock?? just for a 12" 316 ss tube 65$

Here is the pipe but im sure HD will have it...

on the O'kief site, next to the place order button for the tubes... they have a banner flashing in stock now?

1 inch outer diameter by 12 inches long... I remember hearing that up to 1.5 inches wide works anything larger than that results in poor dispersion of the butane... or something like that. but like HH said you can make them longer...

a bracket made of rings with a 1 inch inner diameter epoxied together and a whole drilled with an allen head screw to tighten against the tube...

leg stands epoxied to the bracket...

hose clamps with 120 micron screen...

IDK where one would get them but these rubber plugs... honestly the 'tane nozzles don't even fit in them that well...

$135 isn't a whole lot of money or anything... but after shipping I don't see how it cost as much to build one.

its just a couple of cut pieces of metal, a bracket, a stand, some hose clamps and rubber plugs... I was shocked that something so "cheap" would be so expensive and like I said felt stupid for spending that much on it.

it works great, though, I would like it to be bigger but didn't get the Xtra large 150g one because it is 2" wide.

the extraction expert tubes are 12" x 1.5"
ive not been able to notice any difference between the 1.5" diameter and any others... so i cant realy say i can tell a difference good or bad. itd be ncie to be able to tell though thatd be a lot of work hahaha i hate prepping for blast off .... anyways back on topic the only other experience i have is with the guy who showed me how to make bho he used regular galvinzed pipe and i think his was like 2" it was burly...

if the okiefs were in stock i would have gotten those to be honest hammerhead
all the tech is applied professionally at a pretty fair price imo

good luck

1" copper plumbing pipe in 2' and 3' lengths off the shelf @ l0wes, rubber stoppers there
too and every thing else you need to put a tube together. I like to use an end cap slip fitting drilled to accept the butane nozzle.

I use cheap window screen hose clamped over a doubled coffee filter on the bottom.

duct tape a towel to the tube so you don't freeze your hand.

coat hanger support to hold it over a jar or beaker.

I'm pretty sure you will spend less the $20 for a 36" x 1" copper rig that will last forever and is easy to clean.

copper is food safe, cooks use white vinegar and salt to clean copper with no scrubbing, it's
a chemical reaction that leaves it pristine.

wow some very creative contraptions here people...love the custom stuff. i however am pressed for time and cannot devote a half a day to this project...id rather just fork over the 100 bucks and buy one. the okief one says out of stick when you click on it to order..maybe il check again.

if not a brand like "extraction experts" sounds like exactly what i was looking for.

thanks for the help!

that is the the 3 tube O'kief... it just looks like something homemade... so does their dry sift tumbler I got... its just a cheapo plastic tote with a cheap low voltage motor to turn the drum.

it definitely gets the job done though

I have seen one made from a stainless turkey baster. I have an O'Kief. I think it is kind of small. Maybe just a longer 1" tube. If they are out of tubes at the factory, order the rubber stopper made for the butane can. Everything is easy to get.

The baster only holds at max 1/2 z
But i think its more 7-10g

I tried one of those
Works ok for small amounts
Add a castanet and some #4 coffee filter and ready to go

Kinda hard to figure out how much gas to use though....

I just got rid of a set I had... Fucking practically have em away.

They work well but a few words of caution.... Be sure to tighten the bottom ring, every time. (yes, I've blown out the bottom) and when blasting keep the pressure on the black grommet- I've had that blow up in my face too. .02
