Anybody using an XL extraction tube?

Hey first I wanted to say thank you to everyone providing useful information in this thread. It has inspired me to stop using a rubber stopper and start using sanitary spools with a tri-clamp. I want to use this top that was linked earlier in the thread with this male connector.

The only concern I have is that the material for the male connector is 303 stainless steel and not 304, does this matter? I havn't seen any information about 303 as far as extractions go so I was hoping someone else could shed some light for me.

I have a wooden rod I use to pack the tube pretty tight.... I put a new blade on the scale zeroed that. I got 3.3g.. Someone needs a better Idea to scrap to scrape it off my fingers are all cut up now..OUCH!!!

After purging I put it into a vile. It now weights 2.9g. The only think I dont like is the longer you purge the darker the oil gets. I like it to saty a tan color...

303 SS will work fine and is a easier machining grade than 304SS. You won't notice the difference in your application.

I decided to start looking at hardware stores in my area to build my own tube. I was looking for stainless steel tubing but couldn't find any so I got copper. Then when it came to fittings to reduce it down on the injecting end, the only thing I could find that would work was galvanized steel. I bought all of the pieces and really want to put it together and use, but I'm not sure if these materials are safe for our application. I'm pretty sure I remember you saying in this thread or another that copper is safe, but I'm wondering if these galvanized steel adapters are okay to use with solvents. Will post pics soon, thanks.

Galvanized sounds super shady to me, I think I'd pass personally...
Copper is fine, I believe you'll just have to be more on top of cleaning it than say SS...
But I defer to GW's expertise on these matters.....

I line my pyrex w 2 sheets o parchment and blast directly onto that. There ls a thread on here from "the new guy" outlining the same idea. Fuck blasting on glass and super fuck razorblades.

As a side note, can someone tell me why post #54 in this thread has a red thumbs down above it?

Thanks guys, I'm taking your advice and returning the galvanized steel fittings. Shouldn't have even purchased them without checking the safety first.

I went to hd and purchased a copper endcap that fits perfectly on my tube. If I sweat this on so it is securely connected to the tube and then drill a hole in it to inject tane do you think this would work? I would prefer a removable cap so it's easier to clean but I can't find any fittings at any of the stores around me that are safe to use in our application and can reduce my tube size (1.5") down to an easy injection point.

I also found these rubber end caps that come with a stainless steel adjustable clamp that I think would work perfectly. I think it say they can withstand up to 60 pounds of pressure...anyone have an idea of what kind of pressure we're working with?
