Inside a Marijuana Grow House in the San Fernando Valley

So what? Those quotations prove nothing. Read Steve Hindy's book on starting a brewery. It still requires multimillion dollar investors no matter how small it starts.

Trust me, if it DOES play out this way, I will certainly have my own "microbrewery".

Sure looks like a multimillion dollar investment, soup kettles and Saran wrap...

In 1985, it began to sell its own beer, producing 135 barrels in its first year. These first batches of beer were brewed in a 15-US-gallon (57*L) soup kettle and fermented in open fermenters covered with Saran Wrap.

Lol, start small, save every penny, live like a bum(ie way below your means), and reinvest your saving into expansion.

That's how a good portion of small biz starts. No million dollar investor, just hard work, dedication and a little frugality. Maybe some skills too.

I'm sick of this micro brew analogy. These micro brew companies you mention are multi million dollar corporations. People need to stop pretending that mom and pop growers will be able to become the micro breweries of weed. It will be big corp America controlling it and no I don't want people locked up for a plant, but lets be real!!

Stone brewing co. of San Diego is only 16 years old; their beer is awesome AND they are not what Ambev / Molsen Coors / Miller wants to see.

Just because it is not easy to start a brewery or canna business does not mean that we will ever surrender cannabis to Monsanto or Phillip Morris.

Free the plant and all the growers, users, dealers!

How exactly is a legalization going to make the situation worse for anyone? What is stopping anyone from growing if it becomes legal?

I have a hard time following that line of thought, the powers that be have been trying for decades to eradicate and forbid the plant with zero success. How could a legalization make that situation worse? I think growers against legalization are simply worried they would have to compete in a real market and couldnt rely on artificially inflated prices anymore. A short-sighted and selfish attitude IMO. Yes prices are going to drop and that is a good thing in my book. Imagine having to pay 500$ for a pound of onions because it is illegal and has to be grown under artificial lights. Its ridiculous.

My opinion is that while not perfect the mmj system works. If your getting arrested in a med state you did something dumb. If your not in a med state help make it one. I feel that with legalization the industry will be dominated by govt bureaucracy and big business. All of the people who have built this industry will be pushed out. It's kinda like mom and pop hardware stores, they're gone cuz we now have lowes and Home Depot. People keep bitching that growers just don't want to make less, I really think the growers will be pushed out for corp America assholes!

dayyyyyum...

he controls the environment...

and humidity and temp....

wait what?

Haha yeh I love it when news shows try to explain the basics of growing weed and everyone is just so mesmerised by the basics of it.

Interviewer: "So you mean that these lights have to stay on for 12 hours non-stop?"

Grower: "Yes and then 12 hours of darkness"

Interviewer: "Wooooooaaaaah"

When I see docos of people growing weed I always want them to get past the basics and start showing stuff like trichome density or selective breeding with their plants etc. but the idiots in our mainstream society can only handle as far as showing fans blowing on leaves...

PS. Those plants looked like shit, all ragged and droopy. Eugh!

awww,poor him..only 420,000 a year????!!! The horror...this is called greed,and pot grower or not,hes an asshole,a greedy,capitalist prick,cashing in on the "greenrush"...

i "believe in the cause"...more like he believes in the $$$$...

this guy is an idiot, and is not fooling anybody..its a salary??....yes nono profits can make money, but 420,000 a year is far from non profit..its a money operation..thig story sucks..go cry to those millions of americans on foodstamps and barely covering their rent.

this dumb prick is the one demonizing the industry..this guy has no clue, smh

Exactly! This guy is a stain and needs to go. How can he expect anyone to believe that he's doing it for a "noble cause" when the very first thing he said to the cameras was "I started out doing this for money". Just gives the feds more reason to come after him and any other humble home-grower.

Guy works for a living and the crybabies cry "He's making money".

Yet they have no problem with 'non-profit' CEO's selling pink ribbons for tits and paying themselves (and their buddies) a half mil a year and the lemmings line up for a 'good cause' while the cancer patient gets the equivalent of a free hospital serving of jello.

Who's the real weasel?
Envy coupled with ignorance is not a winning combination.

Ever notice that the Walmart auto centers exist with at least a dozen owner operated auto repair shops surrounding it within a mile radius?
Could it be possible that some people like to pay for the convenience of having their oil changed without the oil drain plug falling out 24 hours later because a nit-wit employee forgot to tighten it ?

Yet Walmart still has customers as well.

People deciding the quality they will pay for is what the marketplace is all about.
Let it work.
