Awhile back, there was a thread about this rooting powder that was supposedly much better than Olivia's or rootech.Anyone know the name of it?

Home depot also sells a product called shultz's rooting powder that works like magic and doesn't Cost an arm and a leg.

strictly speaking, if your cloning skills are even just adequate, you don't really need any kind of hormone at all, it just speeds things up a bit and maybe increases your success rate, ...i can routinely get 80% plus just sticking cuts in moist coco with no hormone or honey and i'm just a hobby grower.

btw, what is your preferred cloning tech? ...and your grow style?

I did the side by side test that is in that area, and to save you some time, the rootech was faster by a couple days- the Olivia's was slightly fuzzier, but both worked. In the end, I combined the two by soaking in the gel instead of a cup of water, then dipped in the powder. IMHO I can live without the Olivia's gel, and won't be replacing it when it runs out. BTW, I used the kind of powder from lowes, but krunchbubble uses the kind from home depot with better results(he is a pro though, results may vary)

Last cuttings run [coco], did 12 w/Rootech, 12 w/Green Light. Saw no difference-possibly, a very slight advantage w/GL. My favorite is Dip n Grow, 15 second dip, then plant. -granger

RO Water + Himalyan Salt ~ 80 ppm

RO Water + Himalyan Salt ~ 80 ppm

After a far amount of clone failure, I found the key was massive bubbles, which my 15L/m air pump provides along with 4 Oxy stones

I also scrape the stem ~ 1/2" and sometimes slice it

If you look closely you can see the water churning

I get the same success rate using multiple kinds of rooting gels as when I use none. I still use it, but when I don't have any I don't stress. I get the same results, anyone else?

Shultz Take Root is the only rooting powder i'll ever use,it's main ingredient is Indole-3 Butriac Acid which is a plant growth hormone.

I have 100% success rate using Take Root.
and for 3.00 a bottle sure the hell beats clonex or other higher priced gels
