More watts with higher temps OR lower watts with lower temps?

Which is the better route to go? More watts with high 80's temps or lower watts with high 70's temps?

The Wattage would be about double. Nothing over 90F and nothing below 77F either way. Night time temps drop either way.

This is for personal stash only, not commercial.

Less watts, enviroment is king for personal or production . Whodare has a good point about using a flip/flop as another option for helping to control enviroment, many ways to skin a cat.

im gonna post here too because this is my problem as well! I live in a humid environment and the RH outside is usually 60-70. I have a closet that is 3x4ft which is just over the recommended coverage for a 400watt light. I have a 150watt and 400watt bulb, I was thinking using the 400watt during veg to keep the RH kind high but then switching to the 150watt for flower. Is this a bad idea? Are there any fool proof ways to lower RH with a dehuey?

Ime more watts = more, as long as temps are lower than 95

...poipu

^^^^ huh??? ive had to run with temps near but under 95 and saw many problems, mostly yield and bud structures... so dont go slinging unproven info like that... i dont let my temps go over 85, lower if anything

bad bloody bad, stick to 400, the dehuey ques has me stumped, have you not answered your own question?:tumbleweed:.

Definitely opt for lower wattage in favor of the ideal environment.

Quality is everything. I'd rather have a smaller quantity of good heady frosted bud then simply more of some bud you're not going to love smoking because it was grown in high heat conditions.

oops i meant to say without a dehuey. I've heard of a diy one with some calcium chloride that im thinking of trying..:chin:

growing at upper 80's isnt growing, your plants are "surviving" not flourishing at these high temps and you learn nothing. Always be at 78f, +/-50%RH with good air exchange and you cant fail, outside these specifications, transpiration makes diagnoses slightly more difficult, should you encounter a problem...

i see 3 plants, shed, plastic, roof, 8to9 foot high, shed maybe 12 foot long, shed full of plant, crawl under to work on them, lol ,high humidity, absulutely dripping of roof every morning, two old shit fans, later in season, no prep in ground for 3 years, lol when watered hose is laid on ground outside ,brick on top.i might add not much watering is done. i think 45 oz and 4 or 8 oz bottom stuff for playing around, lol same thing over 5 years, learned a lot about this tough fuken plant under tough conditions.treated better probaly get more.

I'm not saying anything one way or another about bud quality, but photosynthesis is significantly higher for cannabis with temps at 86F compared to 77F. 95F is worse than 77F or 86F but better than 68F. But humidity needs to be factored in, as with high temps it's easy to have an extreme vapor pressure deficit, which will hurt photosynthesis/quality/yield.

it all depend m8 for instance hotter temps open up stomata to allow for c02 uptake i have grown with dialed in rooms of 76 lights on and 68 off which grows very well indeed but over the years i have increased temps to 84 - 88 lights on and 72 off maintaining RH 60 -70 lights on and off and plants explode now some strain are depended on temps

so its always a good idea to study where your strain comes from and try to dial in your room to those geologic area's
Here are some pics running hotter temps @ 14 days done from flipping to 12 / 12

yes i agree to that, soon as i upped temps and humidity, plenty air flow, crop got better by far. held back at first by worrying about mold, must watch of cause, sometimes to much caution gets ya nowhere, congratze fever on nice crops.:thank you:

hi dont know about that one, your not talking about that damp rid moisture absorber refill, is good gear , iput tub in each clone cupboard, even in corners of plant rooms , outer rooms, you would be surrprised excessive moisture picked up.lollll:blowbubbles: im' looking at back of packet now it says calcium chloride 60-100 8 bucks a bag kilo. i use dehumidifier but that gear helps.:tiphat:

I guess upper 80's is out of the question for me, I run all the elite Kush's, and they dont like warm temps very much... Now 91chemdawg, she can stand the heat, but shes a pretty sativa type hybrid of sorts...

Good post..
