I get my seeds from my own garden:) Plus having friends real friends not this Internet stuff. You will be set.

I dont see anything changing for some time. The DEA,CO,WA need to get this resolved before any stores pop up or sales start anywhere. Im pretty sure it will go the the courts first. it has to change from class one. It will not work until that happens ..

I actually think the prices will go up or stay very close to what it is now. If its going to be for profit the process will go up we should have a poll to see how others feel about this. If I produce quality cannabis i'm not letting it go cheap that's for sure. I also only like to do business with 1 person. The quality will always demand higher prices just like all other high quality items.

It has already been said, but the government does not really care if we smoke pot so much as if we profit from pot.

No seed business coming soon in the states and if it does, it will be taxed and regulated the fuck out. 'Sin' substances and products are a gubment tax goldmine. Sugar is on their radar now and pot will be next.

I am fine with them allowing me to grow a few plants for my own use and not allowing it to turn into a big business for some to exploit. Others want it like alcohol and you go into a store to get it, or work it to get your profits.

I want to make a legitimate living off it and not have to worry about going to jail. Call it exploitation if you must.

Guys think about this for just a second.....yes we know the Feds are still against MJ etc etc. But the attitude in WA and CO on the street now is, MJ is now legal. So regardless of the Feds threats etc, word is spreading that it's legal. Give it 6 months for reality to sink in and I would put money that a person could find some remote spot in Colorado, in a big greenhouse out in a nice forest somewhere, and get a license from the state (on the hush-hush otherwise, illegal-style) to grow cannabis for breeding purposes.

On the retail end said breeder would move said seeds wholesale in legal transactions to other state-licensed marijuana distributors (dispensaries etc), who then would vend the seeds over the counter to customers, whether local or weed tourists, of whom I'd sure there'll be plenty. If for any accidental reason local authorities stumble upon and become suspicious of said grow, the state paperwork would send them on their way, and if one appears to be a decent taxpaying citizen who doesn't cause trouble, odds are said cops won't drop dime with the Feds. So if one exercises proper care then the Feds will never have the opportunity to get involved.

So yes, I can see how this legalization amendment will certainly result in some amazing improvements in breeding. Imagine what it'll be like when you can easily grow and select from thousands of cannabis plants. Imagine 10' tall trees pollinated from head to toe, yielding buckets of seed. There's already sooo many elite cuts and strains out there to start with. This will be the start of our own home grown American breeding industry, as opposed to now where it's scattered independent efforts totally off the record. Now you'll be able to sell things under a brand name on a legal market, and no, the Feds likely won't have a say in that if you keep business strictly in-state.

I expect a shock and awe campaign from them but it's mostly for show, and those who are smart can hole up somewhere and ride it out. Just gotta know how to fly under the radar properly. One trick that works is to change your brand name frequently. The companies that sell oral steroids (of questionable legality) over the counter will sell a product under one name for a while, then when they start taking heat from the FDA they fold that up, maybe lay low for a bit, get some new labels printed up.....then switch to a different but recognizably similar name and go at it again. Word of mouth quickly spreads on forums as to which product represents which well-known research chemical. I think the same system could work for cannabis seeds, and maybe give a paranoid breeder a bit more peace of mind, making profit and knowing that his name and gear is out there, but not so out there that the Feds are going to be able to track him down. The key is not to be the low hanging fruit.

if you can't sell seeds you could already make some big selection and landrace preservation .

and if you are allowed to have a lot veg plant it could be really more better.

my 2 cents :)

What ever happened to Centennial Seed Company? Were'nt they based in CO? I know they were posting on ICM last year, and one of the Pot Documentaries showed a Centennial rep meeting with dispensaries.

Now it's time for the American seed banks to stand tall! ;)

you will only be allowed to sell them in state,
no out of state commerce is going to be allowed.
Then you will need to buy/apply a production license in CO, not sure about WA.
Talked with my lawyer the last 3 months about this exact thing.
The state is supposed to have a schedule of licenses and fees set up by July 2013
and we have wait till Oct 2013 to apply for a license, and licenes/permits issued between 45 - 90 days after applying if ok'd by state.
You better have a clean past, no fraud, felonies, etc. They are being very strict as to whom may serve cannabis to the public.
No-one will be able to sell in CO till after 2014.

Only problem with this is that each city county can ban the sales of Cannabis
if they want, this new law give the ability to shut out sales and limit it to specific region cities in CO.

Centennial Seeds went out of biz, besides their seed were let's just say not worth the $$$ they wanted
I was given a pack of each of his offering where I work at OBM, worked them in the warehouse,
and we were not impressed with the results. but that was only 10seeds per strain, just way to much variation
in phenotypes, nothing locked down.

yeah the home breeder might not be quite out of the woods legally, but the home grower/smoker is well and truly in a much better place after this, feds will ignore 3 flowering plants, it's peanuts in their world.

i do see the commercial growers being in the same situation as now, due to the feds. the state licenses will not stop the feds if a operation is commercial. but this might start the ball rolling for a reclassification on the federal level.

just out of interest how high a majority is needed to achieve a constitutional amendment in Colorado? is it a case of 51% wins? or is there a higher threshold for constitutional amendments?
