I'm just correcting blatantly incorrect information about the Nevada Medical Marijuana Program. No one forces you to join the program. If you don't like it, than don't join.
any comments i made is what i had to do 1st time, i just renewed for a 3rd time. my 1st time applying i used a MMJ consulting service

1st time gettn into the NV MMJ program

step1
send 1 time fee 50$ money order to
nevada state health division
4150 technology wy
carson city NV 89706
now wait 45 - 60 days for your application to arrive in the mail, once approved every year 2 months befor ya expire they send another application for free.

MCCNV now closed charged me 40$ to help me fill out paper work dr referal and notary stamps and finger prints. MCCNV is now closed shame james parsons seemed like a good person

step 2 fill out application and find Dr who writes recomendations for MMJ not all pain management DR's do this only a few.
show Dr any med records exlain your problems maybe get a exame then pay DR his 250$. once approved most Dr's only charge 100$ for your renewal

go get your finger prints done or do it yourself on the pretty FBI back ground check card provided.

get the 2 notary stamps needed

get another money order 150$ filled out to the state again, send it off registered.

now your enrolled waiting for approval, once approved you'll recieve a letter stating this and when you'll expire also this paper you'll need to take to DMV for your picture.
pic at dmv cost me 20$ i think i'll know next wk when i get my pic again

as i mentioned in nevada and i'm not new to this state lmao been here this time since 1983, best to be registered in the mmj program and be abel to use medical nessisty as a defense. then not be registered and unabel to use med ness defense:tiphat:

actually in the affimative defense section Maj. it says this...
****
**********
**** 2. *A person need not hold a registry identification card issued to the person by the Division or its designee pursuant toNRS 453A.220
*or*453A.250
*to assert an affirmative defense described in this section.

So ya just gotta find a doc to give the rec. for a year an thats what ya use in court. I feel they just want to put us on a list, but being on that list isnt needed for affirmative defense. Even cali patients can get out of a ticket too. Ya still go through the hastle of gettin ur meds taken an such but charges will be dropped in court since you too can use the affirmative defense law.

Reading a lot of the Nevada threads and I am one who chose not to get a medical when I lived there because the police in my community were using medical MJ as an entrapment move. The people I knew also didn't want to risk it. You can only have an OZ at a time, but even with three plants in flower, you are supposed to give up the extra which is pretty damn stupid. You can get on here and say they don't really enforce that, but I was warned pretty strictly. It is also very difficult to get the medicine in Nevada. Really their med laws are sometimes entrapment laws. Nevada politics are usually run by shit bags. All poiltics are bad, but Nevada is the poster child.

Used to live there... know what you're talking about, to a "T".

They're going to bust you, card or not and you're going to use the same defense (which doesn't include the card) so.... what's the point of going on radar again???

Live in nevada? Get a doctor recommendation and grow small, grow personal, grow smell-less and tell-less. No drama housemates, no drama neighbors. Did that (without the recommendation) for a few years and highly recommend it vs. crappy quality and the 'getting pinched while re-upping" factor.

Hydro-Soil, that seems like pretty solid advice. I'm moving to Nevada this spring (lived there and grew there before). I've been debating whether to get a MMJP card or not. The only pro is that if you follow all the restrictive rules (7 plants, 3 flowering, 1 oz dry), you won't be prosecuted under state law. But the cons seem pretty persuasive to me:

1. Your card is only good for one year. Have to keep renewing.
2. It's f**king expensive (like $400 total +/- depending on variables), and you have to pay up every single year (except for the fingerprint card).
3. It give you ZERO protection from federal prosecution or a DEA bust.
4. You are putting yourself in a database whose current use is sketchy, and whose later use is undeterminable. That info will never go away, and you have no idea who might use it for what purpose later.

Probably better just to be stealthy, safe, and below the official radar for now. Maybe get the doctor's recommendation in case you ever need to use the "medical necessity" affirmative defense.

On a different topic:

What do folks do in the summer months when heat is such an issue? Crank up the AC and pay big $$ for that? Shut down completely? Keep mothers/clones in hibernation under fluorescents until things chill a bit? I was thinking I wouldn't try to grow in summer, in part because of heat issues, and in part because that'll be a good time of the year to head back to the PNW for vacation.

i say keep the med card, stay at the utmost legal protective status you can. that is if you grow and smoke, i say keep the card to stay legal.
here in co its cheap, under 200$ for doc visit & state fees, & if you are on any form of assistance foodstamps disability the state fee is waived which is 35$, then you only are paying to see the doc and get your recommendation paperwork, and that cost is dependent on which doc u choose.
if you grow, and dont mind staying w 3 veg plants 3 flower plants alla the time and only one oz outside your home, and you dont see yourself ever goin beyond that... and dont like shopping @ weedshops, sure drop the card.

I run the lights at night summer and winter. No extra heating or ac is needed for a small tent grow. Well, almost none.:tiphat:

im in nevada 49 yr old long hair and beard also have MMJ rec and current with state, i've had countless popos get behind me run my plates and drive away. maybe drove away because i have army veteran plates and extreamly clean driving record, been pulled over once and never asked if i was carrying or under influance. sounds to me your friend should have used visene before driving gets the red out. and never drive directly after smoken a joint unless you wash and use colonge. and never never never smoke mj wilst driving in nevada thats just asking for it.

nevadas DUID laws are fckn crazy test above 5 nano grams and your under influance now piss for a job and 25 ng or less bench test the lab dosent even bother calling you the jobs yours

ya know ive thought about not renewing my rec either this will be my 3rd yr if i do

now if i dont renew and get poped medicial nessesity isnt my defense with my numbers 1 yr probation most likely.

now if i renew my rec get poped keep my numbers where they be, cops shall rob me of my plants and dried materail. if they decide to charge me medicial nessesity is my defense and they know it. as a registered mmj patient medicial nessesity isnt allowed as my defense if they feds take the case. i have yet to hear of a case where the feds prosocuted a 40 plant garden lately

Let me guess . Do you have a concealed carry permit ? Cops don't seem to mess with concealed carry persons as much . If not , it probably is your vet plates.

What do you even mean by this? Your assessment on Nevada law pretty much confirms what I am saying.

So if we all have vet plates, we won't get bothered! They need to write that in the Nevada legislation for MMJ!
