i have a theory about the petroleum and it has nothing to do with fossilization.

everyone knows you can make petrol and oil from plants...and that's exactly where it originates.

thank you

If one was to read "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan, one would see how our current agricultural industry is an even larger contributor to greenhouse gases than all our internal combustion vehicles on the road today. It's a very good read that I recommend.

Fukin pigs lol...they get us one way or the other.

for my opinion we all can see what happens in the world, world end is best way to make money same way they flush our brain from tv,news where you can`t know the real thruth, but if you search it might sound strange, impossible but it is the truth, hard to deal with it :)

Both. Global warming is a reality, nobody that is qualified to debate that is debating that. What they are debating is whether or not man has a hand in it. Because that can't be proven however some are siezing on the opportunity to make even more money then they can ever hope to spend in a lifetime to add to the money they already have that is more then they can ever spend in a lifetime.

Fact: the earth used to be HOTTER than it is today before ANY humans were burning fossil fuels.

Global warming isn't what we need to be afraid of... global cooling is what should scare you :)

Fact is we've had 10,000 years of fairly stable climate and it probably won't last forever.

Does man effect his environment? Yeah we fuck it hardcore. Infinite fiat money printing leads to infinite consumption capability. We presume infinite natural resource consumption. We will run into a wall.

The planet has it's way of taking care of problems like this.

Does man cause AGW? :dunno:

I reckon we are but a few ticks on the clock in a much larger space time that we like to admit and eventually mother nature will have its way with us whether we expedite the process or not.

Being that greed is a natural human phenomenon it's quite clear we will expedite this process. It's in our nature to collectively self destruct.

Depressing you say? Everyday you wake up is a beautiful day. Only a fool would not live life to its fullest. Just because reality may make your existence meaningless in the large universal picture doesn't mean that you can't change the universe.

The climate is changing. It is not the first time it has happened. There is nothing we can do about it except ADAPT. We need to get on with that and stop the BS with cap and trade and carbon taxes. These are ponzi schemes perpetrated by TPTB who also fund the global warming science fraud. It is a power play for control of the worlds economy and energy supplies. Science is supposed to be the discovery of how our world works but has been turned into a tool of manipulation and deceit. Modern science is wrong about many so called foundational concepts and has no interest in finding out the truth. Vested interests blind all who worship at the alter of so called science. The day is coming when the falsehoods will be revealed for what they are. Science, modern economics and the corporate/govt facist military industrial complex must fall before a new era can begin.

^if your going to make statements like that, which I have no problem with, at least back it up with specificity so there is room for conversation, debate, and rebuttal with regards to what your saying. Quite the large blanket statement. Cheers enjoy your weekend Rangergord.

Earth's climate has always changed. There have been levels of CO2 higher than now. Most of Earth's history contains climates that are not suitable for civilization today as we know it. This will return and there is nothing man can do about it but try and hold on until he goes the way of the dinosaur and yes humans will go extinct at some point too. It's life. Earth started with microscopic life and each dominating species from here out will start sliding back to that point. Just my theory.

Thanks big twinn. While I appreciate the sentiment about debate, conversation and rebuttal it just is not practical here. My statements are a blanket with wide ranging implications. There is not enough room or time in this thread to even begin to address them. Those who are open minded enough may search out all those themes and statements and find evidence if they so desire. Most will remain unconvinced and stay in their mental prisons while they advocate for mandatory infringements on freedom in order "to save the world". Let those with ears hear for everyone who seeks answers will find them but those who cannot will remain ignorant still.

And it took thousands of years to get that hot, at this current pace it will only take a fraction of that time.

Fun Fact  = Their was only a handful of studies done in the seventy's on the subject of Global cooling. The media latched on to one of them and decided the Earth was cooling. The science community never did.

we've only known the temps for the last 200 years or so.

I think if you believe this then you don't understand any of the science that has anything to do with any of this. I hate that so many people seem to believe that science is some giant conspiracy to make money for bad people. Science genuinely welcomes challenges and skepticism, in fact that's part of the scientific method. Prove it over and over again. Not come up with some crazy idea then try to make it "look" true with a weak explanation full of holes.

i was just stating that there was no way to record temps before Fahrenheit made a thermometer. not to my knowledge anyway. i could be wrong. too tired to find out.

But there are other means by which to calculate temperatures (all kinds of parameters) using other means and methods. My acquaintances strontium levels in coral heads is but one.

SeaMaiden, if you check out the link I posted there is a section dedicated to coral paleoclimatology. Just fascinating. I am most familiar with ice core sampling, but am going to educate myself about the corals too.

like i said, i was unsure. what i meant by "we've only known the temps for the last 200+ years" is that when (from the data i've seen) looks into time periods more so than nailing down what the earth's temp was like in any given set of 10-100 years. it was always presented in an abstract 25 million year time range, and not inherently specific. then again i could still be wrong, and probably am...i'm not debating the science, i'm intrigued by it.
