Jim Ortegas Road Kill Skunk!!!!

Was fortunate enough to be gifted a pack to test for hermie's since these are s1's. Started another skunk strains at the same time -Northern BC Skunk. At the moment the Ortega Skunk is blowing up as can be seen in the photos. I have never seen a plant with leaves that are so wide at such a young age of 22 days.

i thought JIM O bread out the rks for the sweet smelling skunk not saying the rks isnt around i know bodhi is working with the rks and has made a few crosses with it like chem91 x rks.

This is the real deal to me.
The road kill skunk plants that produced these seeds and buds of this strain that I have smoked obviously smell and taste like mellow skunk piss 'or shit', and is a sticky icky lung buster. The buds are fluffy with no density whatsoever, although the leaves have a nice texture/thick-full of trichs and taste out of this world.
I guess its fair to say that this strain was developed more for hash making than for flower production since the calyx's dont look like they really swell like most average indica buds..But that doesnt prevent it from being everybody's favorite smoke.
The other pheno that Ortega has of this strain has a hashy piney taste and smell, with a rks smell to it aswell. The bud structure (on previous dry buds I have smoked) is the same and look identical to the RKS pheno, high is the same.
I have grown and smoked lots of european sweet smelling skunks that shouldnt even be called skunks, these are not those type. It was Sam The Skunkman that bred out the road kill skunk for the sweet smelling skunk.
This weed is only available every once and a while around the Christmas and 4th of July holidays, I try to always score me a qp when it comes around.
So now I feel very lucky to finally be growing these

These have been topped and transplanted into 3 gal pots this morning.
I am not the only one growing these. Ortega gave away over 200 free packs of these seeds. So there are others with more experiance running these as well.
I will be trying my luck at cloning these in a week. A hater friend of mine was telling me that the clones from Ortegas skunk do not root, he claims that the stem will either harden or rot before it roots and that the s1's are sterile and not receptive to pollen. I think he is full of shit but now he has me thinking
I will ask Ortega myself when I see him again

Yes I have grown some Northern Lights and LA Confidential plants with huge wide leaves as well but never before have I had plants this young in 3.5"X3.5" pots (they hold a little more soil than a solo cup) with leaves this wide. They may actually hinder the secondary growth. I was thinking of maybe clipping some to let in some light

Its gonna be nice to look and compare even thoug I'm not gonna be growin pure rks. I will be growing bodhi's 91chem x rks if bodhis says he he has the rks I deff believe him I wonder if they are the same? It will be cool to see if any of my pheno's resemble your's the 91chem and rks should blend nice and make one carbon filter killer.

We got a feel for Jim Ortega over at MNS and he turned out to be just as shady, if not shadier, than Nevil. Having said that, obviously he has some interesting, quality genetics. I too hope you have the real deal.

anyone else running THE PURE.. the TFD . ? i got a pheno that smells nothing like skunks haha.. i dont like it .. at all im getting rid of the clones as well.. i want the real DEAL .. hopefully someone has luck with seeds .. so i can get a hold of some roadkill

The real deal rks smell is just like skunk spray, not toned down or mellow, not sweet in anyway and does not smell even the slightest of shit. There is no other smell in it but pure skunk spray.

amen , got busted in 1989 with rks...the ice at the exit of the exhaust fan produced skunk piss popsicle...

and it was not a pure indica , was a 50/50 at the best .

nostalgia is misleading on that one .

people have a tendency to miss the smell and taste but i dont miss the high , was boring and not strong . one of the main reason we all moved on better thing like nevil m 39 , William wonder , nl line , afgani line and g-13 ect . they where producing better and smell was not much of a problem . the product was way more potent and people where begging for the stronger indica buds in the late 80 and early 90's..that how the rks vanished away .

also sweet tasting buds where very appreciated at the beginning because a lot of smoker where used to smoke import hach and the rks and outdoor buds was not pleasant for many lol , i remember people when they had their first sweet candy tasting buds......they where absolutely annoying....i had a pagette lol the thing was freaking ringing 24/24 .
