Do you know why this might be the case for some members?

hi , good bloody questions , ive got one grey bar miles apart lol ,you have 200 more posts than i have. fuken mystery not worried about it, but weird.

the gray basically means nothing.. You dont get any point for it...Not something worth worry about..New members are the people that give out the gray rep..Smoke some of this you will feel better
