OP, you listed off several diff set ups you will be using. 1K for soil, veg's,hydro, etc.
If this is your first go at it, which i think it is via the question you posed...you will be finding that your anus has turned inside out. Consolidate, make it easy on yourself, this will allow you to take " the temperature " of electrical costs. Then add on.

If you pay on time...a live person never sees your bill....that is the point. Want someone to review your bill...don't pay it on time.

Unless you live where I do. The park manager reads everyones meter. Shen then prints out all the bills. We dont get billed from PGE. The park is billed then we are billed by the park...I dont know if all parks are like this..

EG: 1000 Watt light
Hours = 12 hrs daily x 30 days monthly = 360 hours a month
1000 watts X 360 hours a month X .15 Rate per kWhr / 1000 = $54.00 dollars a month total operation for this light.

Find the rate the electric company charges on a recent bill and plug in the numbers..... remember, however, that a rough estimation on your part will be a rough estimation on your bill as well. i would also advise that you average your bill from the last 12 months and tack on whatever number you come up with to that average to find what you will average paying a month in electricity. your big concerns are not useage as much as visibility of lights by others, smell control, kids that may want to see whats going on (if applicable).

you can do things like get space heaters and plug them in and never turn them on if you are paranoid about anyone questioning what you are doing. Pay your bill, stay out of trouble, and keep your endeavors very private and discrete and you have no worries!

I think it's ten cents a KWH but the lights aren't 24/7, the lights I'm looking at also can dial down to 75% which is good for costly veg.
