purple urkle vs gdp....which do you prefer?

so many people dont get good samples.. if u dont grow your own its hard to judge.
and then all of the conditions, pests, etc have to be in check..

When all is perfect, I prefer Urke over kens GDP and other GDPs

Just got some real nice outdoor GDP for mad cheap. I guess theres a reason Nor Cal is growing it by the metric fuck ton because its a bomb smoke when done right. No complaints here. Grapey hashy earth tones, not super pungent or any of the smells I normally get excited over but the first whiff off the jar is no slouch either.. Nice anti-anxiety buzz, real mellow but with that stoned behind the eyes feeling too. I've never smoked Urkle, smoked Grape Ape tho, real good outdoor Grape Ape and I gotta say this gives it a run for its money.. I'd say its right on par with that Grape Ape. Didn't vote in the thread for having never smoked Urkle.

I love my GDP from Ken's seeds and the anti anxiety effect. Is the Urkle similar or more sativa? And is there a good seed representation of it?

I am in socal and could track down a clone if I tried, but you never know what it is really, or if the clone is infected.

If you got some GDP and did not like it I can only guess that it was not GDP or it was grown poorly. I have some of these new GDP seeds that KEN has released. I have seen some nice pics of it. When I pop them I will know if there is a difference between the clone only version or the seed line..

I really like Urkle grape candy goodness.. I would love to try some grape ape(not arround anymore?) what about Purple Monkey balls is that arround ??

I'm shocked to hear that from you! I would think it take something much stronger? GDP has a ceiling after a bowl it won't get me high? People say its the best! I can see that if you don't smoke that much. But I'm baffled when it comes the high?
Currently running rascals Urkel was hoping it blows away GDP looks like I'm gonna be disappointed!

I dont smoke that much cannabis. Being shocked about what some else likes I dont get it... All of the GDP I have grown is fantastic love the stuff. If I have Urkel I will smoke that first taste is way better IMO.. GDP should have a strong Narcotic effect it is not a daytime smoke or I should say all of the GDP I have grown the effeect on me is very narcotic makes me very sleepy its a couck lock smoke. GDP is far from the best. Not even close.. Who ever told you that is incorrect...

The Urkel is really just a color and flavor enhancer. The perfect purple would be a blending of the Urkel into a large fast flowering sativa. The idea is to get a nice up-sativa high with the awesome flavor and looks of the Urkel. This is what Sub was trying to get at with Querkle.

I have a lot of ideas involving the Urkel; just hope that I can get the chance to try them.

Purple Monkey Balls is still around. There is a circle in Mendo that still run it almost exclusively. One of the gentlemen was tragically taken from us way too soon earlier this year. R.I.P Jamal.

You need to try The Purps (aka Mendo Purps), but the clone only version not the seed version. It has exactly what you are looking for in a purple variety. A very sativa-esque effect with a fantastic purple taste.

I'm not sure if most folks know...Urkle/Urkel was never called "Urkle" a decade ago...it was simply called "The Purple"...and to this day it trumps GDP every time...there are, however, better Urkle hybrids out there that I believe are better than the mother cut.

This bed ^^^^^ is full of The Purple, GDP, Grape Ape, Pakistani Purple Kush, Purple Nepal, Black Afghan, etc., etc.....

I prefer GDP for its sedative and viagra-like effects. But I also appreciate Erkle's non overwhelming indica effects, very anti anxiety. Both good and depends on what you need from the effects imo.

GDP is my favorite.

I've grown "Super purple" which is god knows what that my buddy gave me. Urkle like but a yield between GDP and Urkle.

I've grown a lot of urkle and some GDP. GDP is a balanced high while urkle will get me too stoned.

I guarantee that GDP has urkle in it or urkle has GDP in it. Almost exact same plant, just larger nugs.

They all come originally from one of Somas Lavenders that showed some interesting qualities. The reason Urkle has its name is because the grower that found in in Humboldt asked his daughter what he should name it and she was into Family Ties and said "Urkle".

If you grow Lavender next to urkle, next to gdp you will see they all grow identically, just different end products (know from experience).

I was in(am in search for the perfect purple strain(s) and I have several cuts in my house. I moved and they got messed up. I am trying to save them. I havent flowered many of them, but I have GDP x SCBB, Soma Lavender, Urkle, Gurple, Gods Gift, Purple Diesel Dj Shorts BB,DJ shorts Grape Krush, PK, BB Diesel and maybe more

I had OAksterdams GDP, I agree that is is a creeper and Viagra like after an hour or so, and could make me paranoid at times actually later into the high, but having sex made it go away...weird I know but that is the truth lol.
The Urkle I grew yielded like crazy Purpled like crazy, but once cured it smelled more citrus and wasnt that strong...no doubt a fake, but great visual bag appeal.
Dj Shorts Shorts GK is purple yields decent super fruity, stoney and euphoric high, that turns into a super body ride in high doses after about an hour.
Gurple is agood Yielding girl that turns purple red and green mixed (really colorful! the high id GDP like, but slightly more energetic. The smell is somewhat fruity but weak. I have to dry her with all leaves on to hold the smell in from a slower dry, and sort of a on the vine cure I guess. The high doesnt last that long.
All the other strains I mentioned are either clones or currently flowering, and so I have no opinion on them yet really, just some comments on them so far.
The GDP X SCBB is really full and leafy in early flower and looks to be a real producer, and smells like my GDP did.
The Soma Lavender is a taller girl with minimal side branching.
The BB Diesel has Purple flowers, and the leaves purple from the inner part toward the tips. I am not sure this is the real cut either, but still interesting.
I have no opinion on the Lineage, and love to hear opinions and theories and hopefully I will know the truth one day.
I can add some images of the ones that I have flowered sometime.

I did get a runt pheno that made me feel yucky, can not explain it better.

Ive ran kens gdp, gdp, urkle, pk sr71, grape ape, etc along with many urkle hybrids.. havent personally found any hybrids to be better than urkle but I do like urkle so id love to run some.. i actually am about to pop some ograskal white urkles..

I have a Kens' cut clone. I had a nice clone and took clones from her. I moved and lost my clones an the mom is outside. I have one clone left that was barely hanging on, but she is coming back.

Hope you find a keeper, I've yet to see any white urkle that impressed me. I personally feel like urkle, and white both are better then any of the white urkle I've seen.
