Hey. i got a question about LED lamps what LED lamp to be exactly is these once.
http://www.cosmicgrowth.ca/Apollo-LE...hts-s/1882.htm

I've heard people say that they can get 1.3 up to 2.0gram / wattage from a 600w hps lamp.

i just woundering if its possible to get out more then 1g / wattage from LED lamps?.

i mean i will have 500w of LEDs in flowering. that most be better then a 600w hps lamp or am i wrong?

Hiya:

If you look through the 'sticky's', there is a thread there which is 'grams/watt' or something like that.
I cannot speak about the URL you posted and my last LED grow was a miserable failure if you look at the gr/W ratio but the knowledge gained was invaluable. That said....yes, LED's can obtain that kind of weight although the 2gr/W is rare.....I do not know what the average is and to be honest, I do not care at this point. I am still in the learning and testing phase myself as are so many others.
I can say with some certainty that the day is coming when LED technology will be the growers choice. I also believe that day is sooner rather than later seeing how many people are getting into it and how much great work and research is also being done...

Not sure if you meant HPS there...but I don't think anyone is achieving those types of numbers!! (not for real anyway)

"Normal" claims usually are around .5 to .75 g/w for HPS with top notch experienced growers pushing it over 1 g/w. I have done it...but can't do it consistently.

LED claims are more in line with the numbers you stated.

I had a pretty "crappy" run with LED and still hit 1.5 g/w so yeah that's possible.

One word of advice...if you are planning 500w of led instead of 600w of HPS be sure to split your wattage over a few smaller wattage units. LED's are not like HPS in that you don't want one big source of light. You want a number of smaller sources to cover your area.

Good luck
