Back in the day a simple name change worked FAR better than a pardon

I also like the .8g coke.. Bet they still charged you for a full g. The dealer, not the cops.

You can always get a job working for the gov. There all fn criminals anyway.

You need a pardon for less than a g of coke? Having less than a g of coke wont even get you fired in the states. Youd have a lot of friends at lunch break!
If you still do coke youre gonna need to work on other shit first anyway.

OKay, I see what you want to know now....Just in closing my shit story here...be glad you weren't a youngster when I was...Age 16 and you were a man thrown into the big boy prison!!

Fuck me..not literally though..:D.......I got knocked out for reaching for the salt shaker!! Learned real fast what you can and can't do in those days...

Enough of that...even with a pardon, as everyone else is saying, all that will do is put a very thin coating on your record. If you ever get into trouble again or even if the cops run your name, all that info will still be available to them.

The issue of the pardon is that if you 'get one', they are not supposed to use any information against you prior to your pardon but we all know that isn't the way the world works....

Get a pardon but don't go through any of these bullshit operations that fleece you. Go to the RCMP, request the forms.. You;ll have to give them your prints and picture..etc..etc.
Don't know how long the process takes these days but when I tried it many moons ago, it took around 4-6 months...Needless to say, in my case, no go but that's another story.

<add edit>......let me rephrase that...It used to be that you go to the RCMP,, I don't know these days if it's still the same process......

When or if, you get a pardon, employment requests and that those types of requests will show you're clean.. As for the cops.... you've still got an open jacket for the rest of your life.

I hope that gave you the answers you're looking for............

I, too, agree with everyone else that has mentioned that for an infraction in your youth, you should not be held liable for the rest of your life but that is what we have to deal with in today's society. Someone mentioned that the best way used to be the name change and I fully agree with that but today with everything being digital and storing information is next to nothing cost wise,,, you can't even fucking fart without someone in the government or some data-miner knowing about it..

Good Luck

vukman is right, the earth is a paradise compared to how it used to be.

then again, its always so, our ancestors were shitty people and their ancestors were shittier.

still a long way to go though for a true paradise.

I dont think that's even OPTION for us in the USA. When we get convicted of a crime its on our records for life. Unless your a minor. They have diferant laws. When I was 12 I got busted for unlawful entry(girlfriend snuck me in her room through her window) Her Dad was pissed called the cops.. I got lucky it was sealed for all time :) Since she let me in I got community service at the dog pound killing Dogs. Then they noticed that was not allowed I was a minor then they moved me to a mental institution working with kids that had retardation/Mental problems.

If your in Canada then you will have to apply for a pardan through the RCMP. I believe that if you were convicted before or after a certain date/time it might be automaticlly withdrawn after a certain amount of time. You will have to ask the RCMP.

I had to get something pardoned but when I applied the RCMP came back and said it was already pardoned and all my info, fingerprints, pictures, etc were all destroyed. This was based on some law that automatically pardons conditional discharges which is what I received.

Hope this helps

Conditional discharges are automatically pardoned after one year. Providing yo don't get in trouble during the interim.

If for one second you think that they've destroyed your files...sorry to say that your mistaken... They might seal them or 'pardon' you but believe me...those files still exist. Nothing and I mean nothing gets destroyed especially these days when storage space is so cheap and plentiful.

I realize that they may have told you that the files were 'destroyed' but I can tell you with almost 100% certainty they were not....

The issue of pardons is a long and complex one and unless you need to have your record 'sealed' for business or employment purposes, don't bother.....mind you, that's only my opinion. Why I say that is because once they go into your files to 'seal' them...never know what might pop up from your past to come around and bite you in the ass today....

Good Luck

Hey ChronicFUNK.

I know you aren't looking for sympathy but ya got mine man. :tiphat:

When I hear of someone getting such bad treatment, especially after paying their dues, it really rubs me wrong.

Forgiveness is a virtue Harper and his maggot slime sucking cabinet should inject into their policies quick as fuck because they're all going to need it more than most when Karma comes a knocking.

:ying:

Bench warmer. Harper and his sadistic henchmen, do not give a damn about us. I talked to a real prick who works for the federal prosecutors office and he told me that he dosn,t care if i have a Health Canada license to grow and possess medical cannabis. He told me his department is seizing my home anyways.I asked him what happens if i die before my current possession charges are delt with and he told me he will sue my next of kin .
That is what we are facing with Harper as prime minister. They are all acting like neo -nazis.

Harsh man. :nono:

Harper and his coven all seem to be prodding the bugs up their own asses with too much of each other's dicks.
