Thread is from an mma forum im on. This kat got suspended for marijuana use and someone got a pic of his license that says "medical marijuana patient" right on it...

As a mm user in cali, I am shocked, and I can see this as a HUGE problem...

Usually when you get pulled over here, they ask for license, registration and insurance...
Its only when they see your medical card in you wallet, as your pulling out your license, that they start asking questions about your medical card...

Id rather NOT let the cop have that privileged information, unless im getting in trouble for pot....

Drivers license and mmj card are done through the same dept... And use the same database... And get issued from the same out of state processing facility. They look almost identical as a consequence.

Supposed to be confidential though... Lol

what gets me is the costs, 50 just for the packet then, 150-250 for the doctor, also however much finger printing costs and cost of getting it notorized then another 150 to the health division when ya send all your paperwork back....EACH YEAR!

Ya still gotta go.to.the dmv to get your registry card which is different than your drivers liscense.

WOW!!!

You can get a renewal for $25 in California from the shitty docs..

I pay $150 a year to get a 96 oz and a 99 plant limit...

They had a surplus of cash in the NV MMJ fund last legislative cycle and gov decided to dump it into the general budget to be spent elsewhere. Not sure if it was or is supposed to be used for a specific purpose or not but I don't think it is.

That's the way it works in NV. A big state but just a handful of people that run everything.

It's part of the NV MMJ law that we get our cards through the dmv. Now as of last year, from what the dmv lady told me cause I asked, no one is allowed to access the mmj registry due to hipa laws. Several years ago I got pulled over for speeding and the cop told me I was a mmj patient. Didn't ask if I was using or anything else about it. But it did make me wonder wtf. Then they started denying people the right to buy guns because they were "Known drug abusers." The fear of the state being sued for violating hipa laws is what started them denying anyone access to the info. Now leo will just keep on raiding and bugging us like they have been. Didn't make a difference to them anyway..

In my town that doesnt happen in northern NV. Lots of familys that are trimmers out this way and.the force here are.related.or.friends one way or another. They focus on the tweekers since they are causing the issues with crime an such. Our narco cops here work in Vegas on mmj.

I wish our local cops (and locals) would focus on those who are committing real crimes and making real victims instead of going for the low hanging fruit--pot growers.

If wishes were fishes our tanks would be full. Then again, I might like a full tank right about now in any event.

Am I like the only Cali patient whose doc never puts limits on their recommendation? My attorney advised that I have my doctor do that (not put any kinds of limits in writing), but my doc does that from the get-go anyway. He keeps his own usage records, but puts not a thing about limits on the paperwork.

In Nevada you can have just the condition and doc rec for a defense. you don't have to register. Furthermore, cultivation is not actually illegal. When they restructured the pot laws they accidentally left cultivation out. That is not even on NORML, you just have to know your shit there. There has been many failed attempts to re add it. Also up to one pound is a misdemeanor, possession. That combined with the med defense, a lack of state funding for cops, being cool, meaning non gangsta, and staying under 99 plants, you make it a waste of time to mess with you.
