Anyone else allergic to certain strains?

My friend smoked a Roach 3 hours before I came home. There was no smoke in the house. After 2 hours here's how I look. These bumps will continue to grow until they are all over my body. They start as itchy and then as they grow they get very painful. It is not caused by PM.

Looks miserable. This is exactly what my arms/hands look like upon physical contact with both vegging and flowering plants.

I have no problem smoking/vaping except for maybe some phlegm issues in my throat, but harvesting and working in a flowering room completely wrecks my sinus and respiratory. Dry brittle hash making material can nearly put me in the ER.. been scared a few times with deep heavy chest/breathing troubles.

I find it odd that I used to have no problems in my earlier days of growing... or perhaps I didn't correlate the two oddly enough. I want to say my symptoms started happening around 3 years ago.. At 1st it just seemed like I'd come down with a cold/running nose, sneezing, and similar ..just so inconveniently around harvest time. Didn't put two and two together until I felt it in my chest that it was the cannabis causing it.

..off to go research some mushroom extracts. I've been dealing with some other issues as well such as acid reflux (brand new..never felt it in my life), jock itch (for years), itchy ear canals (very difficult to resist the urge), athletes foot (seemed to have cured with cider vinegar soaks)...as well as poor breathing ability through my nose and various sinus/allergy issues. I feel like I'm aging rapidly in my late 20s.. Something systemic has changed in me.. perhaps diet and this mushroom extract might be the right direction...Dont really take pills and mainstream solutions have done nothing.

maryjaneismyfre,

Are the capsules effective or do you have to do the real deal?
Maybe I'll try growing my own. There are some youtube videos about growing reishi mushrooms.

There was no smoke or smell of cannabis in the house. Friday night my eyes were swollen shut and I had to go to the hospital again. So now I'm back on steroids which I don't want to be on but have no alternative. I've tried all the over the counter allergy medication and it didn't help. Certain strains do this to me. Even when these plants are growing I still get these hives. I don't have to touch the plants to Breakout. I don't even have to be in the same room.

The last time I was in Amsterdam, I was coverered in hives. I walked into Greenhouse coffee shop in the red light district and asked the budtender if anything can help me. He suggested some cheese and I bought some. After smoking a joint the bumps went away by the morning. Could be a coincidence but just stating what happened.

Allergic to the male pollen, never heard of someone being allergic to a certain strain of cannabis. Interesting.

I am allergic to cannabis; all strains, as far as I know.

If I touch any part of the plant and then my eyes, they will itch badly; break up bud then scratch myself with my fingernail, it will swell.

The more plant matter I am exposed to the worse it is; I limit edibles to those derived from extracts, and I vape rather than smoke. I broke out in hives once after eating a bunch of ganja leaves, but in retrospect it could also have been bee pollen I tried from a new area.

GMT, good observation, I cannot vape male flowers because the male pollen in particular causes me headaches, sneezing, and uncontrollable runny nose / tears for a while.

I'm allergic to my cat and I still keep her...

Humm interesting I have heard of ppl being allergic to pollen but not just one plant.. I have heard of a way to fight this aswell although I have not had this problem I can see how this might help. Your supposed to take a very small amount of bee pollen and injest it daily and increase the dose daily until your all good with pollen. Very small to begin with until your body adjust to pollen. Like a flu shot or vaccine good luck headband 707:biggrin:

Hey Headband I know one thing the male pollen turns my nose on like the water tap. Never had any issues with smoking or female flowers. Wonder if that would work for me with male pollen? I go into the breeding room with the males and I turn into a snot farmer ugh! lol

Yeah I could imagine that would be a pain in the ass... If you get the organic bee pollen and you could go as small as breaking up one pollen piece and injesting this and see how you feel. This idea is just like a vaccine if your body gets the smallest amount and deals then the next time it knows how to deal , I would suggest making it very small though if your allergic and see how you feel. goodluck headband 707:)

Not the dairy product I assume he means..That certain skunk no1 variety is notorious for it! haha When fresh that is.. and it is one of the most terpenous varieties I know of.

That is a hectic case of the allergic reaction Dumbedore! It looks hectic anyways..Regarding the mushroom, it will really help with that.

Also regarding the mushroom, the extract from fungiperfecti.com comes highly recommended. There are many extracts available, but those is made by THE expert, or at least his company and are quite reasonably priced. You could grow your own, but the time it will take to learn the skills and to get enough for your own use to be self-sustainable is too much for the short term. It is a long and rewarding journey too and take it if you want. For now a good extract will do, one with other species in too and liquid/ethOH based I don't trust the shelf life of the dry extract capsules and powdered mushroom capsules are a waste of time as you need eq. to 3g dried mushroom daily. You can also extract your own if you find a cheap source (ie. Chinese ) or place where they live in the wild and know how to ID mushrooms OR HAVE AN EXPERT ID FOR YOU. There are old, and bold mushroom hunters, but not old AND bold mushroom hunters. They died so be careful please.

I Know this thread is old but i got one question.
So im allergic to the pine fruit but not the resin of the tree and smell...this means im allergic to the pinene terpene or not?
