Growing with 800w Solarstorm led actual draw to around 600w
Canna coco with BluMat watering 5 gal reservoir
Strain is FireStarter
All in geo pots with scrog

I've decided to throw this grow journal on icmag , because of the many led growers on here, with knowledge and experience. I am currently halfway through bloom and pretty impressed so far. Coming from a600hps, the 800w solar storm may perform just as well. Started out with four FireStarter cuts ,two had problems due to hot coco medium. I will finish the log here

looking great, what are your thoughts on the pots? I am always looking for different pots to test and haven't checked those out yet. They look well built thats for sure!

Great light and great grow so far, a ton of solid trichs building up.

Thanks medmaker, they are similar to smart pots, they are called geo pots made in the usa...the ones in using are 3gal with a break away Velcro lining for transplanting...with these fabric pots the roots are air prune so no worries of being root bound nice man root growth, well oxygenated

great thread. Its good to see this setup in action. It seems like a new trend--canna/coco/blumats. I just switched from Advanced nutrients to Canna & their 100% coco medium. The plants are loving it and much further along than normal. I have been using autopots 50/50 coco/perlite, but upon chatting with Canna they recomended 100% coco, being very anti-perlite, so I decided to switch it up to blumats.

Autopots work good, but they also require root control discs and costly to invest in and replace valves that break. Plus they are not very compatable with the valve/tray/pot, whereas blumats stick right into any pot.

I'm curious as to what your nutrient regiment has been? I've been running full strength with canna the whole time and the plants havent had a problem with nutrient burn at all.with AN that shit was a guessing game as to how much ml/L to not torch the plant. Your leaves look a little non green in some parts, but that looks like it could also be from genetics.

I'll be doing a grow log when I eventually get it all set up. I have a bunch of Grape God clones I just put into 1L air cells and should be getting my blumats and 3 gallon pots soon. Also, what size pots are those? I was torn between 3 and 5 gallon rootpots but got the 3g for space restraints.

glad that you enjoy the grow... i still am using AN but still switch to canna nutes on the next run.Yea the leaves show some deficiency due to me using some off brand coco that was precharged...had a time trying to nurse then back to health...will stick to what I'm use to which is canna coco next time

I started out using Botanicare's ReadyGro aeration formula, but its a little more than 50/50 and if it had any issues it was hard to correct. Aside from being made with high standards the canna coir is suppose to be aggregated coco in order to hold 40% air instead of the normal 23?% to avoid perlite. Also the coco a/b is suppose to keep the coir at the proper maturity level.

Although AN works with coco, I don't think they have as compatible of a formula as they would like to. There is chemistry between the nutrients and the medium and plants that is different than regular soil/soilless mixes. I've never had the plants come out without a hitch like I just did with the first run of canna (full strength pretty much the whole time). They're still finishing up, but water only from here out.

Also the buds are buds and not just flower at this point, never seen the plant bud out like that by the start of week 8. Usually it takes till 10-11 to start; not to already be there. The only thing I can think is that the canna Boost was a factor, I alternated between regular and double dosages for awhile then the bottle got lighter and I went down to just regular so save $.
