have facial recognition technology in effect already? I keep reading govt has all this new facial recognition biometrics cameras on streets already. I mean, if you use someone else's info to get yourself a drivers license in that person's name, will their picture pop up? Can a cop pull you over, and do facial recognition, and if that matches, they just arrest you? What if you have a twin? Do DMV's share all info, with other DMV's?

Keep your head tilted 15* left or right an facial recognition becomes obsolete, the software cant recognise what a face looks like tilted... they can do a visual inspection, but the software on its own running wont id you... Az

I don't think I have ever been happier to always wear a hat everywhere. I dare a computer to make out my face with a hat and glasses on during the daytime. Maybe now I just have to get a hat that covers more of my face.

I guess the question I need to know is, if you go to a registry to get a license, and the info you have is not you, will the state be able to pull up a pic of the person who's info you are using? If the person who's info you are using hasn't had a license in the state you are applying for the new license in, but has a state id in another state, are all states linked to share info???

I doubt it. My name is fairly common. So as long as you were male :0

it would be impossible to sort out which one you are..imho

There was a documentary on The Discovery Channel where they showed that if you wear a baseball hat with LED lights in it (such as for fishing or nightwork), it fouls the cameras ability to take pictures correctly because of the glare from the LED lamp, whether it's on or not.

IR LED's will also likely do this. It will make your head just look like a blur and you don't have people stopping to ask you why you have lights on your hat.

Or I will just keep wearing my tin-foil hat everywhere.

dmv all connected. believe it. and lying to the dmv will get ya charges. ir lights dont make a blur they make your head a glowing ball of light to the camera. nobody else will really notice the ir bulbs .

every single state forbids 'hats' during DMV pics, the exception/exemption might be religious head gear like a yarmulke.......

Glowing ball of light...blur, doesn't really matter the camera cannot make out my face either way and that is the important thing.

Actually this was about cameras on the street using facial recognition. The only reason the DMV was mentioned is because it would be the only way to actually match up faces.

So, if I go to a registry in the state I am, to get a license, in someone elses name, that doesn't have a license in the state I am in, but does have a state id in another state, will they know I am not the person I am pretending to be, by comparing photos to the state they live in?

First time I became aware of this was out of Nevada. Went through to get my Dr license, which had always been given to me at the dmv in the past... And had to wait for them to mail it to me. Lady at the counter told me it was to meet new federal laws and that my pic needed to be verified first, in order to ensure I was who I said... Meaning my pic was only being used by me and my one name. It came to me by mail, from an out of state mailing address... My guess a central processing facility somehow tied to the fed. Sure as shit, my state med card came from the same place. No bs.

Look up the real id law. Requires the linking of all dmv databases and content like pics.
