I think my guerrilla garden has been spotted....

So I live in the southern part of the world and spring is here. I found a spot for my first guerrilla garden it's about 150 meters uphill on the side of a small mountain it in an area that gets more then 8 hours of sun. I thought is was pretty well hidden from everyone as i have to go uphill, through thorns bushes and really thick brush just to get there. The past couple of weeks I've been prepping the spot, cleared a small area for the grow, I've carried 4 40Liter sacks of chicken compost, organic soil and worm castings to the spot including my shovel. The past weekend I hauled another 40L sack of soil to the place and found that someone or something had tore open the sack of chicken compost, but didn't touch the other sacks or shovel. Did not see any foot prints, no large wild animals live in this area. When i first found the spot I left the equivalent of $20 US dollars on the grown as a trap to see if anyone picks it up, but its still there no one has touched it. I dn't know if im paranoid or if it was just some stray dogs that tore open the chicken compost, but I dn't want to ditch my operations as it took for every to haul all that shit up hill. NO plants are there so if it was a person maybe they have no idea why all that shit was there in the first place and hopefully won't come back.

Should i continue to using the area or should I leave the shit there and find another spot?

^ yes imo to the above reply's. i've had stuff moved around/torn open that freaked me out as well. leaving the money out was smart. always nice to have more than one basket ( grow areas) to hide your eggs in. i lost 2/3 areas this year; some viscous form of fungus, deer. turns out another grower is working the area hit by deer; i could get busted or revealed by his grow if his coming and going into the grow area is detected by snoopy, nosy neighbors.

If the animals are attracted to the bags, they will at the very least dig at the roots. You need some kind of deterrent for them.

It's an animal, probably some sort of ground rodent like a rat. I don't know any place on earth outside of the poles that doesn't have those damned things. I wouldn't worry too much especially if 1. the money was still there and 2. you didn't see any footprints or human tracks around.

yerboyblue- now that i'm reading up on Quati's they are related to raccoons and are everywhere over here.. do you think they will dig up the plants if I use the chicken compost?

Prep your holes a few weeks before you put the plants out there, that way the animal cans dig it and see that there is nothing there and they will most likely leave it alone for the rest of the season!

Boa sorte!

Few years back foxes dig my holes with chicken manure. Now I always try feed the soil with that shit in the fall if it is possible.
Happy growing!

Very likely they would, especially since the picture you posted of them looks like ALL of them are digging holes in the ground for no apparent reason.
