Interesting, I never get sick - been taking zinc gluconate spay for years at the first sign of a cold.

But this time it didn't work. I woke up really sick Sunday and took of work yesterday. It did shorten the cold but that one day was awful.

I had no desire to get high and that's very unusual for me!:biggrin:

I did toke up every now and then because I had a huge desire to just zone out and sleep and it helped with that.;):)

I most certainly smoke when I am sick. If I have a cold it helps with the stuffy nose. Through the same mechanism that gives us dry mouth when we smoke it helps dry up the mucus membranes alleviating some of the runny nose. If I have a fever it definitely helps mitigate the temperature. Since I regularly use cannabis medicinally, using it while I am sick just helps keep my body in balance. I do however curb my usage a bit, as when I am sick I usually have no desire to physically smoke. But after a few tokes I am always feeling a bit better.

Even the stress of being sick can prolong the ailment. A few tokes helps relieve the stress and allows my body to relax and attack the invading pathogens. But this is just me, I am sure this may not always hold true for everybody.

If I have a cold? Yup. Why? Dilates pathways.

But I get very few colds. I'm a little OCD about that. I NEVER touch anything in a public bathroom, I flush with my elbow and I carry a bleached handkerchief in my rt. hip pocket just to open bathroom doors or if I do have to touch anything, cover.

On a related note, I was at a combined military tech school and walked out of the men's room after just pissing. This is an old joke but really happened. This jar-head comes up and says, "The Marines taught me to wash my hands after using the bathroom. I said, "Common sense, or maybe it was the Air Force, taught me not to piss on my hands". Then I ducked.

Back in 1993 when I was in jr high and used to live in the inner city in NY, the first time I ever heard anyone talking about the medical effects of cannabis was this random guy that used to hang around was complaining to me and my buddies about having a bad cold and cough, and he was hoping that the weed he just smoked would help him get over it. This was before I had started smoking but hearing him say that made me curious about weed because before that point I had never heard or thought that it could be used for medicine for something.

I don't don't like the smell or taste of smoke when Ill like I am now, cold for the last week n half, chesty cough & acute food poisoning from fish.. I'll some 10% of my normal intake but it definitely elevates my mood and gets my appetite back.

I 2nd edibles.. Been through the times stood still, I'm not breathing scenario but I did find after couple doses your body gets used to digesting thc and gets more fun. Like gypsy said eat a dose little bits at time waiting 30mins between mouthfuls.


Hope u better soon it sure does blows feeling crap.

Funny, because urine is sterile. You can drink it.

Im starting to screen the type of person i smoke with because some ofonnmy friends dont use tooth paste or brush on a daily basis

i will smoke until my lungs just come flying out. My actual lungs. No, I will smoke when I'm sick, always have. I usually just take a few hits, cough or barf etc, then go to sleep for a few hours, repeat. That's how to beat a cold or flu. When I had work done to my teeth i was lying in pain for a week, and the only thing i could do was sleep, wakeup and take a pain pill and smoke a bowl, then go back to sleep. Did that for a week straight, was like living in an opium den.

AWESOME. No more 2 dollar bottles of water at the convenience stores, I'll just go in an alley and piss in my own mouth like I'm drinking from a water fountain

I havent been sick in almost 20 years and I used to smoke every day. Now I just vape every day. Coincidence? Probably, and Ill probably catch the flu tomorrow because I havent had a shot since I was a kid

Everytime I've smoked when sick with cold or flu I've regretted it.

It will make me feel better, but only for a little while, then I feel worse afterwards.

Last time I was sick I got some edibles from a dispensary and they saved the day, esp. by allowing me to sleep and taking my mind of the illness. I couldn't sleep more than a half-hour and with the edibles I was able to sleep for hours.
